(Hai Pa) – At the Chabad house in Sprinzak in Haifa, the preparation of the traditional food baskets began this morning, Monday, September 7, 26. Hundreds of volunteers and donors joined the operation, in which over 500 food packages full of products were packed for the holiday.
As every year, in preparation for Rosh Hashanah, the Chabad House in Haifa, headed by Rabbi Yehuda Ginsburg, is mobilizing for families in need of assistance, and this morning, as mentioned, the preparation of food baskets began at the Chabad House in the Sprinzak neighborhood. As part of the operation, over 500 food packages were prepared and packaged, which will be distributed to needy families throughout the city in preparation for the holiday. The packages include a wide variety of food products, including dry goods, pasta, rice, canned goods, wine and sweets, with the aim of enabling families to start the new year with dignity and a festive feeling.
The operation is supported by a broad mobilization of the community. The food packages were prepared and packaged thanks to many generous donations from organizations, companies, and private donors, along with many volunteers who came to take part in the packaging work, some of whom even came from far away. Dozens of boxes and packages were already packed and prepared for distribution, along with volunteers who worked long hours to complete the task in time for the holiday.

Avraimka Eisenstein, spokesperson for Chabad Haifa: "It is moving and special to see the mobilization of the people of Israel even in 2026. Despite all the difficulty and heartbreak, hundreds of volunteers came to help, pack and transport the food baskets to all the families and people in need."

Shmaya Katz, Head of the Activities Division at Chabad Haifa: "Like before every holiday, we pack hundreds of food baskets, and this year the demand is growing. Along with the great need, we are happy to see the volunteer spirit of Haifa residents, who come to help pack and transport the baskets to families."

Lahav Gechalet, Director of the Chabad Haifa Warm House: "Following the situation, demand has increased, and more and more people are contacting us and asking for basic necessities that will allow them to celebrate the holiday with dignity. Fortunately, there are many volunteers who are volunteering to help, and today we are carrying out extensive activities. Anyone who wants to join, help or donate is gladly invited."
