(haipo) - The camel riding procession that was planned for the LJ Ba'Omer celebrations tomorrow (Tuesday 9/5/23) in Haifa has been cancelled. Instead, a limousine will wait for the children.
Last year, the Chabad planned to hold a pony riding activity as an "attraction" for the participants as part of the LJ Baumer celebrations, and in the end, following requests from animal rights organizations to City Council member Hila Lauper, who contacted Rabbi Yehuda Ginzburg, director of the Haifa Chabad, the attraction was canceled. This year, the Chabad branch of the Vardia neighborhood decided to hold a camel riding procession.
Also this year, city council member Hila Laufer appealed to Rabbi Yehuda Ginzburg, director of Haifa Chabad.
The procession was supposed to take place with a police escort, but the police stated that no request for the procession had been submitted.
Following Laufer's appeal to Rabbi Ginzburg, the camel procession in Haifa was cancelled
Following the appeal of city council member Hila Lauper to Haifa Chabad Rabbi Yehuda Ginsburg, the camel riding procession, which was supposed to take place tomorrow in Vardia, was canceled. Instead of camels, there will be a limousine. The decision was made thanks to the cooperation between Haifa Chabad Rabbi Yehuda Ginsburg and Vardia Chabad Rabbi Uri and Rabbi Hani Lemberg.
Rabbi Yehuda Gesenburg said:
For decades, at the behest of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, we have been holding colorful processions and children's shows in Lag BaOmer. According to tradition, on these days Rabbi Akiva's students died for not being respectful to each other, and our message is to be in unity, and love your neighbor as yourself!
There are dozens of events taking place in Haifa today and tomorrow, and I am happy that there will also be a colorful procession and event in the Verdia neighborhood at 17:00 p.m., with a luxury limousine to transport the children and a spectacular artist show,
And at the same time we saved riding camels which can cause animal cruelty. I call on everyone to add unity and love, participate in the holiday events and respect each other because we are all brothers.
The procession in Bordia is organized by Rabbi Uri and Rabbi Hani Lemberg, and they invite everyone at 17:00 PM to gather near the Shufersal in Bordia and from there to the neighborhood park, entry is free!
Councilwoman Hila Lauper gave Lahi Fa: My response:
After inquiries from several parties, among them rights activists, to inform me about a camel show that was planned to take place as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations and asked for my intervention and help, I immediately contacted the lovely Rabbi Yehuda Ginzburg and asked him to help cancel the show. Dear Rabbi Ginzburg, who did not know that the event was to take place, immediately responded to my request and agreed with me that it is better not to hold this type of show. I am happy and thank him for his help and wish everyone a happy Lag Ba'Omer.
The problem
I didn't understand where the expression was?
Camels live in wild areas, on sand hills and dirt and grass surfaces.
Camels are not animals that are supposed to walk on asphalt roads.
And besides all their transport in special trucks from where they live here. come on !
Right
In Vardia and not in Vardia, just like in Wadi Nicenes and not in Wadi Nicenes, and also like a will and not a stool...
I didn't understand where the problem is - cruelty to animals that for thousands of years carry on their backs 10 times more weight than that of a small child or two?
Must understand where the animal's sorrow aspect is. So they will stay in the Negev and there will be the same attraction for tourists.
We have to ask what exactly the delusional council members are busy with who opposed the thinning of wild boars and brought about a severe urban blow...
Now your problem is with a few camels for two hours. What is the next step to stop spraying to save the poor mosquitoes?
They are also animals.
