(Hai Fe) - This year, the Haifa Chabad is also making sure that no one is left alone or hungry on Passover. Rabbi Yehuda Ginzburg, director of the Chabad house in Haifa's Carmel Sarfati neighborhood, and director of activities at the central Chabad house in the city says: "Demand has increased because of the war And the donations decreased."
"A challenging year • many families turn to us following the war and on the other hand many donors and friends this year could not help"
This is the 12th year in a row that the Chabad House in Haifa organizes and distributes packages for Passover, but unlike previous years, this year, in the shadow of the war, the demand increased and the donations decreased. So says Rabbi Yehuda Ginzburg, director of the Chabad House in the Carmel French neighborhood in Haifa, and director of activities at the central Chabad House In the city. Yesterday, Monday 15/4, the distribution of the food baskets began, which include, among other things: wine, yogurt, matzoh, drink, tuna, canned kosher noodles for Passover, salt, sugar, cookies, chocolate, coffee and everything you need to get through Passover.
The recipients of the packages are people who have already registered in advance or arrive and register in an orderly manner in order to receive the packages. Due to the demand, it will also be possible to arrive on Thursday 18/4/24 between the hours of 8:00-14:00 and receive the package independently from Beit Ham Beit Chabad Haifa.
The success of the event, says Rabbi Ginzburg, was of course supported by the port of Haifa, the local parents' committee, the Nefesh Kol Chai association, partners and companies that help Chabad, as well as individuals who helped and are helping, thanks to whom the annual aid operation for the needy during Passover came to fruition.
"We thought the response would be low and we were surprised that the parents responded like every year"
This is the fourth year in which the Yishuv parents council in Haifa has joined forces. Kellner and Goldver are harnessing and mobilizing all the elementary and high school parents as well as the kindergarteners to pack and deliver the food baskets to the families in need. "This year we thought that the response would be low because the people of Israel are collapsing under aid to the needy and soldiers, but we were surprised that the parents responded as they do every year," say the vice-chairman of the Haifa parents' leadership and Goldberg, the chairman of the leadership of the local parents' committee in Haifa.
"It's fun to pack the food baskets and feel like we're doing a good deed"

Rabbi Yehuda Ginsburg: "I want to thank all the donors and volunteers and invite you to continue donating and volunteering. Those who want a food basket should not be ashamed, the main thing is not to be left alone, it doesn't matter if it is secular or religious, Jewish or non-Jewish. Everyone is invited to come and register and receive. Yesterday we prepared 1000 packages and on Thursday we will have another 100 It is important to make an orderly registration because this year the demand has also increased because of the war.
"This year is a challenging year, the rabbi adds, many families turn to us following the war, and on the other hand, many donors and friends could not help this year. It is a challenging year, and yet we decided to hold it because we are in a time when the nation needs more reinforcement. When we see the parents and children getting involved, it strengthens togetherness. ".
