(haipo) – In light of the security situation and the prolonged stay of residents in shelters, Chabad Haifa embarked on a special joyous campaign that lasted three consecutive days. Chabad’s joyous mobile passed through the city’s neighborhoods, reaching the doors of the shelters and bringing with it a Purim holiday atmosphere, even during this challenging period.

Music, popsicles and food deliveries all over the city
The joy mobile, accompanied by local Chabad emissaries, traveled around Haifa playing bouncy Purim music and handing out surprises to children. Among other things, refreshing popsicles were distributed, food parcels were delivered, and short activities were held to delight families. In addition, Megillah readings were held in public shelters for those who could not make it to the synagogues.
The activity took place in all neighborhoods of the city, with the desire to reach every resident, even those who are in a protected area or have difficulty leaving their homes.

“Now is the time to add light and joy”
Chairman of Chabad Haifa, Rabbi Yehuda Ginzburg, emphasized the importance of community support these days: "Together with the Chabad emissaries in Haifa and all our partners, we will continue to stand by the residents of Haifa, in every situation and at every hour. Right now, we are adding light and joy."
According to him, the goal was to provide a moment of breathing, a smile, and a sense of community connection even in a time of uncertainty.

The significance of the activity for residents
The presence of the Joy Mobile in shelters and neighborhoods created a sense of human warmth and strengthened the bond between the community and the Chabad emissaries. For many children and families, it was a bright spot in tense days, a reminder that even in difficult times, moments of joy can be found.

My children were so happy when they heard the joy van approaching. They ran to the window and started dancing. After that they went down to receive surprises…a very welcome initiative, especially in such tense days! May Chabad and the Shluchim in the neighborhoods be blessed.
