Over 1000 food packages
Over 1000 food packages will be distributed today (Monday 19/9/22) at Beit Ham - Beit Chabad Haifa, in the Shaprintzak neighborhood, as part of Rabbi Yehuda Ginzburg's holiday food distribution project, which is now in its fourth year.
The success of the project has many good partners, including the CEO of the Port of Haifa - Mandy Salzman, who contributes and even ropes in other companies to contribute and help.
Haifa station policemen also joined the food distribution operation and came to help prepare and collect the packaging of the packages and fill them with goodies, so that no family would go hungry during the holiday.
"We want no family to go hungry on the holiday" Rabbi Yehuda Ginzburg • Watch
Rabbi Yehuda Ginzburg, Beit Chabad:
"For nearly 20 years, we have been handing out 200 hot meals to the elderly and Holocaust survivors every day at Beit Ham - Beit Chabad Haifa. In recent years, we have added another 150 meals to children from families who have a hard time, and in the last four years, every Rosh Hashanah and Passover, we distribute over 1,000 food packages to needy families.
We want no family to go hungry on the holiday, and God willing, in recent years we have been joined by several large companies, such as the Port of Haifa, Keren Nefesh, Kol Chai and other projects that share in this great endeavor. Today, as mentioned, we will distribute over 1,000 boxes of food, together with the local parents' committee and the Scout movement.
Hai Pa readers, you too are invited to come and donate - so that no one goes hungry this holiday
I call all My readers live here get to "Beit Ham Chabad Haifa" (this is how to write in waze) and donate. We will be here until 20:00 pm. Happy New Year and Merry Christmas!"
"We feel that the initiative is gaining momentum" ○ Mandy Salzman, CEO of Haifa Port ◄ Watch
Mandy Salzman, CEO of Haifa Port:
"Rabbi Yehuda Ginzburg recruited me for this purpose and I happily accepted. This is the second time we are all involved in distributing food to the needy. Both on Independence Day and next New Year's Eve we are doing well. The port workers were involved with great joy and desire, and they will come and help with the distribution. The Port's Donations Committee donated With a generous hand, so are customers of the port - the Scandinavian shipping company, which happens to be owned by David Castel, president of the Chamber of Commerce in Haifa, Adani Simkin, CEO of MSC Israel, and Chen Lamdan, CEO of Torian, donated the cartons and his hand is inclined to donate more.
We feel that it is getting the appropriate momentum, when the project is a collaboration between the Chabad Friends Association and the Yishuv parents' council, which has people you can only admire: Ofer, Gadi and Lior and the scout movement who help and assist."
"Leaving the hard work and going out to lend a shoulder to the Haifa community" • Alon Shahar from the Haifa station ◄ Watch
Alon Shahar from the Haifa police station:
"The officers of the Haifa station mobilize every year to help underprivileged populations by distributing food. We leave our hard work and go out of the routine to lend a shoulder to the Haifa community and distribute food. Today we help here and next week we will be somewhere else."
This is how it is when welfare in Haifa deals with politics.
Lucky that there are such organizations and good people.
Hope they don't find some disabled and elderly people dead..
Happy New Year
Food packages during the holidays do not solve the plight of those who are unable to find work because the factories and public companies closed standards and cut jobs to finance the huge budget pension of the millionaire pensioners, including hundreds of millions in wage increases (hush fees) for Haifa port workers. Dear Mandy, you and your ilk are one of the reasons why the poverty line is going down - the wage gap. Among those with the hand on the counter. Don't give us a package of cakes from associations. Give a chance to work with dignity in the country by cutting duplicate pensions and inflated salaries for "first generation" workers from Kombani of the Histadrut fusion. That way they will be able to purchase food for the holiday on their own.
Thank you, sane Israel that seeks to stop the greed of the generation of hoarders of pensions and apartments and cars.
