An uproar following the publications about a recommendation to move a hospital from Haifa to Kiryat
(haipo) - The news headlines published on Monday morning (7/8/23), according to which the special committee's decision was made to recommend the transfer of Carmel Hospital to Kiryat Ata, caused many echoes, but an inquiry made by Hai Pa revealed that the storm was premature.
Checking the system live here with the Ministry of Health
This morning (Mon. 7/8/23) the spirits rose following publications on several news sites, according to which a joint team for the Ministries of Health and Finance, which was established to discuss and recommend which of the two hospitals in Haifa - Bnei Zion and Carmel - should be transferred to Kiryat, reached a decision that it would recommend transferring Carmel Hospital for Kiryat Ata and at the same time for Bnei Zion Hospital to be moved to the current building of Carmel Hospital.
In the clarification that Chai Pa here held in front of the Ministry of Health, it became clear that in fact the team is still in discussions and that it has not yet been decided which of the two medical centers will be recommended by him.
A hospital in Kiryat Ata, named after Menachem Begin
As a reminder, in 2021 the cornerstone was laid for the planned regional hospital in Kiryat Ata, which will be named after Menachem Begin. The hospital was planned for a total area of 150 dunams and a built-up area of 428 thousand meters, and it will contain 2,200 hospitalization beds and multidisciplinary medical clinics and institutes will be established there , welfare service units and paramedical services, faculty residences and a recovery center for patients and relatives, which will make it the largest hospital in the north.
In the same year, a working group was also established, with the aim of formulating a recommendation as to which hospital should be transferred to Carmel or Bnei Zion, in both hospitals there were those who expressed a strong desire to move. The committee was supposed to give its recommendations a long time ago, but two years have passed since then and a decision has not yet been made.

At the International Gulf Conference on Regionalism, held this year 2023 for the second time in Haifa, Dr. Avi Goldberg, director of the Carmel Medical Center, said on the panel that this is a national and vital task and that the General and Carmel Hospital are ready for the challenge and want to promote the Menachem Begin Hospital in Kiryat I will, as quickly as possible.
Dr. Avi Goldberg also said that he believes that Carmel Hospital, with its centers of excellence and the strong connection to the community and the general, as the leading health organization in Israel, will be able to establish the highest quality hospital in the fastest period of time.

The Ministry of Health informed Lahi Pa:
"In the government's decision on Haifa Bay, it was decided to move one of the hospitals from Haifa to Kiryat Ata. A joint team for the ministries of health and finance is in discussions in order to recommend to the ministers which hospital should be moved."
It boils down to a private hospital receiving a budget from the state instead of moving and improving a public hospital!!!!
What is this corruption?!?!
Carmel is privately owned and does not cater to everyone, unlike Bnei Zion.
Carmel Hospital will be evacuated and in its place will be built an urban brothel maintained and supervised by the Ministry of Health.
[…] It has not yet been decided which hospital will move to Kiryat • Live-Oral Examination Carmel Hospital Main Articles Shared by Nega Karmi […]
In order to keep an eye on the state, yesterday the Supreme Court decided that the approval of the large hospital in Kiryat is not reasonable, and is therefore void.
The same weight now stands in the decoration committee of the 3rd grade in Kiryat Ata, a proposal to state that the Upper Fifth is not reasonable and will therefore be dissolved.
If it will be possible to open another access road to Carmel Hospital and a suitable parking area, there will be no need to move the hospital. You have to think outside the box. We need another hospital in the Haifa area without moving a hospital.
Only planning such a complex structure as a hospital on the systems where it takes several years, of experience!!! So after they decide what they decide, don't expect a new hospital in the next decade
Let them do as in Jerusalem Hadassah Beit HaKerem and Hadassah Mount Scopus Carmel Hospital in Carmel and Carmel Hospital in Kiryat Ata. The Carmel Hospital used to be on Moriah Mapo Street and they moved it to the convalescent home on Michal Street where as children we used to play. The Hadassah Hospital on Shmarihu Levin Street was also moved to Hess Golomb Street and changed the name to Bnei Zion. By the way in 1938 in the attack that the Arabs of Haifa on a bus Full of Jews in which 3 were killed and seventeen were wounded. My father, as one of the wounded, lay in Hadassah in Shmeriah Levin. Moshe Dayan also lay there after being wounded in the eye.
Do people here have no sense??!! Not long ago they renovated Bnei Zion and now you want to get rid of it? Who are you bad decision makers like you? Are their salaries paid from tax money? Shame on these idiots.
The decision includes two really brilliant flashes:
The first will budget the construction of the new hospital for its 2,200 beds in the amount of 1.65 billion shekels. I remind you that for the conversion of the hospital in Ashdod that Maccabi built, from half public to fully public, Maccabi received almost NIS 1 billion from the state. for 400 beds only.
The second is the evacuation of the Bnei Zion hospital, after the state invested tens of millions in it for a new emergency room and strengthening the buildings. If the hospital is evacuated and destroyed, it will be possible to build at least 30 two-family apartments in its place. The value of the land for these apartments will probably also be priced in the billions...
Winning bid:
Rambam Hospital will be moved to Kiryat Ata - according to its size, it will immediately be able to offer all the wards, 2000 beds.
The hospital buildings in Bat Galim will be converted into hotels and hostels.
Only the children's hospital, cardiology and emergency room will remain.
This is how Haifa will earn the entire Rambam area as Kiryat tourism, recreation and water sports with dozens of hotels and an additional 2000 hotel rooms and hostels in the towers facing the promenades. Kiryat Ata will earn a large hospital with space to grow even more. And the special hospitals will remain and bring medical tourism as well.
The emergency room with the secure parking lot will remain, but the outpatient clinics and the dilapidated historical buildings will be converted into hotels or demolished to build hotels.
The population is growing and we have long been behind in the number of doctors and beds per capita. Instead of moving, you have to open a new one!
The stupidity did not stop
Ahithophel's advice. How is nonsense accepted in committees?
They will move Carmel, and the people of Zion will move from their current location
to the Carmel location (which will move to Kiryat Ata..)
Instead of immediately transferring the Bnei Zion
to Kiryat Ata, and leave in the current place
You are Carmel. And came to Zion a redeemer.
If Bnei Zion is moved from Haifa to Kiryat Ata, will the hospital employees stop being employees of the Haifa municipality and become employees of the Kiryat Ata municipality?
They took advantage of Klish's weakness to get another large employer out of Haifa to the north.
The continuous weakening of Haifa instead of building a hospital in Kiryat Ata until the end of the construction to train for it teams from the rest of the hospitals in all of Israel who want to move to it. No mayor would agree to this
