(Haipo) – The lifeguard team at the Backdoor Beach in Bat Galim in Haifa rescued a surfer who was in serious distress a long way from shore. The lifeguards went out to him using a jet ski and a life raft, rescued him and returned him safely to shore, where he received life-saving first aid until medical teams arrived. The quick action apparently prevented a real threat to his life.
An exhausted surfer was found lying on his surfboard in the middle of the sea.
The report about the surfer was received at the lifeguard hut when he was found exhausted, suffering from severe pain and cold, and lying on his surfboard in the middle of the sea. Immediately upon receiving the call, the lifeguards went out into the water using a jet ski and a life raft, reached the surfer, rescued him, and returned him to shore safely. This was a quick, professional, and admirable action that apparently prevented the surfer, who was in serious condition, from being in real danger.
First aid in the rescue shelter until the ambulance arrives
Upon arriving at the beach, the surfer was taken to the treatment room in the lifeguard's hut, where the team provided him with initial treatment, which included warming him with hot water and wrapping him in coats and an aluminum blanket. A paramedic and an ambulance then arrived and evacuated him for further medical treatment. Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav praised the lifeguard team: "Praise to the lifeguard team for the alertness, speed, professionalism and humanity they demonstrated during the incident, qualities that have long since become the hallmark of the lifeguard teams on the city's beaches in general."
Director of the Coastal Division: "Act with determination and humanity and save lives"
Rita Sassi, Director of the Beaches Department at the Haifa Municipality, commented on the incident and said: "The lifeguards at the Backdoor Beach acted exactly as expected of a professional and skilled team - quickly, calmly and with full dedication to saving lives. This incident illustrates once again the enormous importance of the lifeguard teams on Haifa's beaches, and their uncompromising commitment to the safety of bathers and surfers. I am very proud of the team that acted with determination and humanity and saved lives."

Where is this beach in Bat Galim?
There are three beaches in the Bat Galim neighborhood.
The Quiet Beach, near Rambam Hospital
Bat Galim Beach, near the naval base
And there's the beach under the train, which is unknown if it has a name.
"Backdoor" (back door) is a surfer's name. This is the section from the casino to the beginning of the new boardwalk (Hulda), including Bat Galim Beach.
So exciting. Quick action by the rescuers saved lives.
bless him
Praiseworthy
All the best to the lifeguards, the lifesaving operation. Written by Amram Sabag Armando, a retired lifeguard.
David Lissner What eats your heart when you praise a worker?
First of all, are you doing your job properly or are you one of those who eats for free?
Why is this a news story? In the grand scheme of things, people did their job, what they were trained and specialized for, and they get paid for it. This is the Mediterranean Sea, not a storm in the Atlantic Ocean.
May the rescuers and the men be blessed.
These are very, very high-quality people who work there. I know them personally. Rescue workers in winter and summer do their work faithfully. I know this company even in winter, and they are there during periods of rain even in summer!! They have a big nose.
What type of surfer?
Waves?Kite?Wind?Wing?
Congratulations on your courage and resourcefulness.
