(haipo) - The committee established to examine alternatives for expanding international air traffic capacity to and from Israel is expected to recommend promoting the establishment of a regional international airport in Haifa.
As a reminder, the Minister of Transportation Merav Michaeli appointed a special team to examine the possibilities of expanding international air traffic capacity to and from Israel. At the Gulf Regional Conference held this year in Haifa, Michaeli said that she does not rule out the establishment of a supplementary international airport in Haifa and emphasized that in Israel it is necessary and important to establish supplementary airports, one in the north and one in the south, and for this purpose the team was established that examines alternatives for expanding the capacity for international air traffic.
The team formed under the leadership of the Deputy Director General, Elam Sagi, examined the alternatives and came to the conclusion that a regional international airport should be promoted in Haifa, and will submit its recommendations very soon. The recommendation is to expand Haifa Airport into a regional international airport. As part of this, the route can be extended from 80 meters to 1300 meters, a plan that can be realized within two or three years from the receipt of the recommendation. Of course, in addition to extending the route, the terminal, access to the airport, parking and proximity to the train were considered. In the initial phase, the field will be able to accommodate the movement of 1600-2 million people when the flights will be to destinations of up to 3 hours of flight time (Europe, the United Arab Emirates and Sharm - this is not about large planes) and further expansion will follow.
Why doesn't Rafi Hasson Rapoul respond?

I am sure that such a decision does not exist, it is so stupid and foolish to think that Haifa can be an answer to the needs of air aviation in Israel.
At least 10 committees determined that an airport near Afula is the ideal place, yes the perfect one despite some shortcomings, so why do our politicians insist on causing the State of Israel terrible damage and an aviation disaster.
Take the Father of the State Ben Gurion - who said I do what is good for the country and not what the citizens want. The kibbutzim in the Jezreel Valley do not want an airport and our wretched politicians are frightened and fold. If the new airport in Ramat David is not built now, it will be a cry for generations. An airport will bring a huge blessing to the Galilee in all respects, economy and education. Medicine is a tremendous boost to the Galilee and our State of Israel. thanks.
How can a route be extended, if it enters the area of the new port? Has anyone looked at the map?
Kudos to Haifa Mayor Dr. Einat Kalish Rotem.
We need an international airport in Haifa for the sake of all the residents of the north of the country
After a large number of committees, the last committee determined that it could not recommend any location for a new field. The temporary Ministry of Transport until the elections reigns over Sde Haifa. The Ministry of Transportation after the elections will recommend another recommendation and in the end, there will be another committee and a livelihood for the Danes and the thinkers.
As Michali said that surrogates are prostitution of the woman's body and wanted to use a surrogate abroad secretly.
She is all lies. The "Truth" party is actually the party of lies... we've gotten used to it, haven't we? We have had three bad mayors from this failed party it is time to move on.
First take a night train back to Tel Aviv to the airport. A taxi costs more than a holiday package in Hayal. It just doesn't make sense.
I hope it won't happen in Haifa!!!
What Haifa needs are overnight ferries to Cyprus, the Greek islands and the Turkish Riviera. There are large ferries that take passengers and cars at a speed of 74 km/h, which is more convenient than driving an hour to Israel and another 3 hours standing in line!
Nimbam will wake up
For anyone who thinks that there will suddenly be air traffic in Haifa that we have never seen here, you should check the facts. Contrary to Klish's delusional dream, this is not a world full of international flights and short flights, which is much different than it was in the past. It will be a very modest field, without instrument landings and night flights, so most international airlines will not be enthusiastic about using this field. The route with a maximum length of 1600 m will not reach the coastline and certainly will not extend into the sea, because that is impossible. For us as residents of Haifa and the north, this will allow us to fly to distances of up to two and a half hours' flight (Greece, Turkey, Georgia, Crete, Cyprus and perhaps also to Malta), but those who are not afraid of connecting flights (connections) will be able to fly to Istanbul or Athens and from there continue to other destinations, or fly to Eilat And from there continue to Dubai.
So this is good news overall. But it is still necessary to establish a complementary field to the National Defense Museum in the north and the alternative with the ideal location with the most advantages and the fewest disadvantages - is in front of the coast of Tirat Carmel, on an artificial island, as the team I am a member of suggests and promotes.
The time has come for the north to have another international airport in Ben Gurion in order to take the pressure off the airspace in the center. It is also time that a resident of the north who wants to fly to a country in the region will not have to go to Ben Gurion. This is a quality of life
I wish Light at the end of the tunnel for the residents of Haifa, that we will not feel like a periphery.
In two weeks we will forget about the transport minister,
A penny episode
I hope very much that it will finally come true..arriving in Tel Aviv is a nightmare. There are trains/there are no trains...taxis are very expensive..I even give up the duty free only if the trip will be a life-changing 10 minutes for me.
You forgot that in two weeks there will be an election and who knows where the transport minister will be after 1.11. I think all the fuss is unnecessary.
Let's wait and see.
Today there are already electric passenger planes for 10 passengers that are intended for regional flights, within a range of about 1000 kilometers. The development will enter service within a few years, and will bring about the revitalization of local airports.
I wish! This way you can continue to fly to the rest of the world without working in Netbag.
Come on, let them begin. Tired of going to the center to fly to the sand
Where will the tall cranes of the Gulf port be moved - those that no one in the world wanted to take - and pushed to Haifa? If they remain in place, there is no possibility of significantly extending the route.
When will Michaeli start talking to the minister responsible for the port?
They are confusing us for election purposes
Then everything is canceled and left in the drawers
We want an international field with flights all over the world that will compete with Israel without tied hands
The existing field adjacent to the refineries is a crazy and dangerous failure
We must dry up the sea and establish routes into the Haifa Bay area such as the Gulf Port
Give us direct flights from the field in Techni to tourist spots such as Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Sinai and other convenient routes and you will see how full the flights will be, how many vacation days in Eilat cost like a month's living, people are drawn to such routes
The establishment of a large airport in Haifa and its expansion in the future will be a cry for generations. Unfortunately, it is not the residents of Haifa who will suffer, but mainly the residents of Nesher and some of the residents of Kiryat. The question arises if and when the refineries and fertilizers are vacated and residential neighborhoods are built in their place, what will be their fate when large planes circle overhead.
Hope the new government doesn't approve it.
We will find technological solutions. Don't be stuck in the past. This country needs promotion
Several committees were established. How much money they poured. How much precious time was wasted when it is absolutely clear to any ordinary idiot that the airport in Haifa is the right place for expansion.
Lol
It's good that there are choices, you can chatter freely
And blessed is the believer.
A winning mayor cliché
Moved the cheese to all the threats and entrepreneurs who tried and are trying to profit at the expense of the public and use the city's resources to their advantage
Thank you Klish
All realistic people in Israel oppose the establishment of an airport near them. Only Kalish is willing to sacrifice the residents of Haifa to unnecessary and offensive noise.
The problem is that Kalish will no longer be elected again, but the residents will suffer forever from this decision.
For your peace of mind you are sacrificing the younger generations who must have this country run in several centers and not just a center, therefore an airport in Haifa is very necessary, while it is bigger than what is written in the class
In 1996, it was suggested to the then mayor Mitzna Amram to build an international field in Haifa. The gaon on duty refused outright and preferred to open bars on Moriah axis and raise the property tax. Just like today, which is in conflict with itself, lends a hand to the natural proliferation of wild boars. Wow, poor Haifaim with 3 screwed up mayors. Mitzna, Yahav, Kalish. The Haifaites were punished 3 times, isn't it a shame?
And also to Haifa Mayor Dr. Einat Kalish Rotem for promoting the city of Haifa.
Kudos to the Ministry of Transportation. Good night
The field is already international, and in the past there were flights from the field to Cyprus and more.
We are talking here about flights of up to three hours and an order of magnitude of planes with more serious capacity than 2 seats per side
If you are going to invest in expanding the airport in Haifa, then the runway should be extended to 2300 meters and not be satisfied with 1600.
Establish an airport on the sea just like they do in developed countries.
Right and that's exactly what my team is promoting these days!
Oh my, what a terrible noise we will have in addition to the air pollution that already exists!!!
Put a double window and it will close the corner for you
So there will finally be a way to return from Ben Gurion at night??♂️
They are talking about airplanes and there is not even a train.. It is good that they are not opening a branch of NASA.
Before the elections you don't believe in anything ??♂️
The shallow echo of Michaeli's words.
The field does not support instrument flight. This closes the door on any extension fantasized by the temperature controller in the train cars...
Master and master, the time has long come
Kudos to Mayor Kalish for promoting the city of Haifa. It won't help the Minister of Transportation who tries every time to grab headlines in Haifa, soon she and her party will be going home in the matron :)
Even today Haifa Airport is defined as an international airport
