(haipo) The Haifa District Attorney's Office filed an indictment with the District Court against Rotem Geron (38) from Kiryat Motzkin and Sharon Marciano (43) from Haifa, for operating a network of brothels in the Kiryat Motzkin area for about three years, while exploiting the economic and mental distress of women.
Recruiting women in distress and forcing them into prostitution under difficult conditions
According to the indictment filed with the court, the two worked together to recruit women who were in financial and mental distress, and forced them to provide prostitution services under difficult conditions. The defendants collected most of the money received from the women for prostitution services and in some cases even threatened women who wanted to stop their activities and leave the network. This criminal activity lasted for an extended period of about three years in the Krayot area.
Tax offenses and money laundering amounting to millions of shekels
In addition to operating a prostitution ring, the defendants are also accused of tax offenses and money laundering amounting to at least 1.8 million shekels. The indictment includes a long list of serious offenses, including pimping, running a place for prostitution, extortion by threats, and obstruction of justice. These are serious charges that reflect organized and large-scale criminal activity, which included both the exploitation of vulnerable women and the commission of serious financial offenses intended to conceal the defendants' illegal sources of income.
