(haipo) – The Haifa District Attorney’s Office (Criminal) has filed a serious indictment against three defendants, after they allegedly attacked, robbed, threatened and kidnapped two complainants following a personal dispute. The incident, which began in an apartment in Haifa and ended in a remote bank with both complainants injured and bruised, is described in the indictment as one of the most violent and severe cases recently uncovered in the city.
An invitation to an apartment – and the attack began
According to the indictment, filed by Attorney Shir Shalom Peretz From the Haifa District Attorney's Office, the conflict between one of the defendants and the complainants led the three defendants to plan a violent attack. One of them, D., invited the complainants to his home. Immediately after they arrived, the other two defendants, C. and A., entered the apartment and began beating the complainants with fists and kicks.
During the attack, Ch pulled out a knife and threatened the complainants to hand over their phones. The three continued to attack, beat, and tear gas the two until they had the phones in their possession.
Violent robbery and threats of murder
The violence did not end there. The defendants tore off jewelry from the complainants and took the cash they had on them, threatening them with severe violence and even murder. They then forced the complainants to open their bank app to check their current account balance.
When they discovered that one of the complainants had 1,200 shekels in his account, they decided to kidnap him and force him to withdraw the money and hand it over to them.
A threatening walk to the bank – and serious injury
The defendants forced the complainants to clean up and change clothes so as not to arouse suspicion. They then forced them to go with them to a bank about two kilometers from the apartment. They threatened that if they did not pretend to be friends, they would kill them in the forest.
In real fear, the complainant withdrew all the money in his account and transferred it to the defendants. Immediately afterwards, Ch threw the phones over a nearby fence, and the three fled the scene, leaving the complainants injured and bruised.
Serious offenses and request for detention until the end of the proceedings
The indictment accuses the defendants of a long list of serious offenses:
- Aggravated robbery
- Blackmail
- extortion
- חטיפה
- Assault causing actual damage
Lch is also charged with the offense of Unlawful possession of a fist or knife.
The prosecution is seeking to detain the three defendants until the end of the proceedings, due to their high level of danger and the severe violence they used against the complainants.
