"I realized that I can change" • Marwan's promotional videos reach the whole world, and he is only 16 years old

(haipo) - Marwan Jaber, a 16-year-old boy from Dalit Al Carmel, chose to contribute to the country in his unique way and became an advocacy star on social media. With hundreds of thousands of views on his videos, and one reaching 3 million within a week, his message is heard far and wide and reaches many.

Marwan Jaber

Jaber, a young Druze, started his journey on social media several years ago, as a child, like many others his age. With the outbreak of the war and the increase in negative discourse against Israel in the Arab world, he decided to change direction. "I couldn't enlist at the age of 16, but I wanted to contribute to my country in a different way", says Jaber in an interview with 'Hai Pa'. This is how the idea was born to create informational videos in the Arabic language, which present the shared life of Arabs and Jews in Israel.

"I had two reasons to start," he explains. "One, the desire to present the true reality to my friends in the Arab world, who receive incorrect information about Israel. The second, the understanding that I can change, because I speak Arabic and can communicate authentically." The videos he created began to gain momentum, with one of them even crossing the 3 million views mark in just one week.

Marwan Jaber

One of the highlights of his young career was a conversation with Mahmoud Hadid, the father of model Bella Hadid. "We talked about the situation, and I realized how much awareness is lacking in the Arab world about the reality in Israel. They don't know that there are Arabs and Druze here who live as part of the state, work and receive equal rights," he says.

"The positive reactions strengthen me"

Along with the positive reactions that Jaber receives, he also had to deal with negative reactions and even threats. "I'm only 16 years old and I don't understand why I have to receive curses and threats. But I choose to focus on the good", he shares. "The positive reactions strengthen me. People on the street stop me, tell me that I will still make it to the Knesset and take pictures with me. It gives me pride to speak on behalf of the Druze and Israel."

Marwan Jaber

Jabber aims high. "My dream is that my voice will reach the whole world". He aspires to one day replace the IDF spokesman in the Arabic language, Avihai Adrai, and in any case he will continue to promote positive information. "I believe in peace and that Israel is a good country. It is important to me that people learn not to believe everything they see on social media."

He concludes optimistically: "I do advocacy that brings hearts together and builds peace, not hatred. This is my way of contributing to my country and bringing about real change."

  1. really a cannon boy,
A boy who understands at his young age, that the world is not black/white, that there is definitely a good life for everyone here in Israel, a life in partnership.
Every human being wants to live a good, pleasant life, in a good, sympathetic and supportive atmosphere.
This beautiful boy received a good education at home, family and school.
Really proud of his family, his parents.
I wish there would be more boys and girls, young men and women of all shades who would take an example.
The young generation are the hope for an even better future.
