(haipo) - Judge Breslav today (Thursday, 16/5/24) accepted the request of the Let Live Live association to withdraw the lawsuit against the Haifa municipality. This means allowing the continued thinning by shooting in Haifa, by the Haifa Municipality and subject to a permit from the RTG determining the identification of a recalcitrant pig in the slaughterhouse. The ruling will allow the municipality to continue doing its work according to law.
At the end of a heated discussion, the association asked the court to delete its request for a restraining order and was not required to pay court costs.
"An idle request, a waste of time and a travesty"
A senior official in the municipality told Lahi Fa that not charging the applicant with expenses would result in more idle requests and not cause deterrence. Simply disgrace and shame and disgrace... This is not how a court should conduct itself, certainly when the applicant submitted a request without a thorough examination and without verified evidence or reports.
It is important to note that during the hearing, attorney Yamit Klein asked the judge to order the applicant to pay the costs and even repeated that it was an idle request, a waste of time, and to harass senior people into hearing an unnecessary request
Time until the plague of pigs in Haifa is eradicated

Request for a restraining order against the Haifa Municipality

Attorney Erez Wall, director of the legal department of Let Live Live Live:
Adv. Avital Ben Nun is an activist for animal rights
Quotes from the courtroom
As part of the discussion, the legal advisor of the Municipality of Haifa, attorney Yamit Klein, questioned the first witness, a resident of Tel Aviv and a lawyer by profession and an activist for the protection of pigs.
She was followed by Karin Arad, a resident of Haifa who submitted an affidavit on 9/5/24, who was also questioned by Attorney Klein. Klein expressed her objection to all the evidence. Arad filed the affidavit after she saw a shot pig lying on the sidewalk in her neighborhood in Carmel, a pig that according to her testimony has been well known in the neighborhood for the past 5 years.
Kirin Arad's testimony:
Attorney Klein: how do you know him
bronze: "I live at Kaspari 15 near the Wadi and I've known the pig since he was a puppy, when he shot his mother. I don't feed wild pigs, only cats and I'm against feeding wild pigs."
Attorney Klein: "How do you recognize him?"
bronze: "Because he has been walking around the neighborhood since he was a puppy, I recognize him and know him. According to identifying marks, he always makes rounds, enters public gardens, one (garden) was fenced and he stopped entering it. In the last two years, when fixed bins were placed in the open public garden, he He never approached people or dogs every day, but he came mostly when there were leftovers in the garden. He never approached or attacked.
A video of the hero pig was shot by Arad. Another video was shot by the security cameras.
Attorney Klein: "Who initiated the affidavit?
bronze: "I contacted the association immediately after shooting the pig."
Dorfman fan, the head of operations at the Haifa Municipality, said at the High Court: "We increased the thinning effort, keeping pigs away from the public space. This is expressed in a new tender, which includes shooting and not just traps, as has been done in recent months - first trapping and then killing.
Attorney Klein: What is the definition of a wayward pig?
Dorfman: "A disobedient pig is a pig that has lost its fear of humans and we want to keep it away. If the pig runs away and moves away, it is not disobedient."
Klein: "What activity do you do to identify an unruly pig?
Dorfman: "Again, if he runs away, then he is not disobedient and if he stays, he is disobedient."
Klein requested to oppose the continuation of the questioning on behalf of the representative of "Let Live Live" on the grounds that the representative deviated from the topic and discussed the policy of the municipality and the Nature and Parks Authority.
To the question of whether there is a fundamental change in the treatment of the pig issue, Dorfman replied that there is no fundamental change, with the exception of the shooting action. First there was capture and killing. "We arrive at the implementation after a report from the residents, or as part of a patrol," said Dorfman.
A lawyer for 'Let Live Live' said in court: "Documents and reports as well as (certain) statements raise concerns and a reasonable basis for a massive killing activity, which seeks the quantity and not an examination of pigs that endanger the public. All the documents indicate a phase change. We, as a body that protects animals, want to see that all alternatives have been examined in a conclusive manner before The killing".
At the end of the testimony, Attorney Klein requests to reject the request to let the animals live at the outset.
RTG representative: "The cooperation between RTG and the municipality has tightened and the policy has not changed. If the applicant had applied (to the RTG), she would have received an answer and an explanation. We do not want a child or a person to experience fatal injury, therefore there is no need to wait or stop (the operations of killing the pigs). The killing is a complementary action. There are reports and there is transparency and I do not understand What is the purpose of the lawsuit, which does not contain accurate information and (contains) a serious accusation of indiscriminate shooting."
Details that we published in preparation for the discussion
The association "Let Live Live" submitted to the Haifa Magistrate's Court last Thursday 9/5/24, a request for an order in a civil procedure to stop the thinning of wild boars in Haifa by shooting - as it is currently being carried out. Court judge Shulamit Breslav ordered a temporary order to stop the thinning activity by shooting in the current format, until a discussion on the issue is held between the two sides, a discussion which, as mentioned, is being held today, Thursday 16/5/24, at the city's Magistrate's Court.
He promised to eradicate the pigs within 90 days
As I recall, the mayor of Haifa, Yona Yahav, promised, when he ran for mayor, that within 90 days of his return to office he would eradicate the phenomenon of pigs. 45 days have passed since then. Upon his assumption of office, there was a fundamental change in the work plan led by the municipality together with the Nature and Parks Authority, a plan in the framework of which the pigs roaming in the neighborhoods are thinned out by shooting.
The plan provoked the opposition of animal rights organizations, when the association Let Live Live, as mentioned, appealed to the judicial system on the issue in order to prevent the continuation.
I don't live in Haifa.. but to see crazy people here who protect pigs because they have rights... come on. Were you born in the jungle? Through the world that man conquers and the animals are killed. I'm sure everyone here eats chicken on Shabbat and meat on holidays without any stupid conscience.
Right
A large pig was seen in court, dressed in black from head to toe, with consistently unruly behavior and suffering from dementia.
The municipality's response: "We make efforts to take care of our pigs. Especially the big black pig..."
To me who celebrated the death of Vivian Silver. There is no greater humiliation than celebrating the body of a woman who was murdered on 7.10. It is interesting that the comments here are not reviewed and such a response is possible. Shame on you here.
All the best to Yuna
Yes, I'm in favor of humanism and I have a hard time with killing. But it's even more difficult to know because in the next house a neighbor was hurt by the pig and 5 houses from us a pig killed a little puppy that went for a walk with its owner. And it's hard that a pig tried to attack my husband because my husband was holding a pizza and it's hard for me with the neighbor who asked for help several times in the evening to cross the sidewalk and it's hard for me with my daughter who has already called several times to help her pass a wild boar that entered the garden because one of the neighbors forgot to close the entrance gate. So in the end - yes, I don't want to live together with the pigs. I would have liked the removal to be more humane. And I would send all the wild pigs to the offices of the association Let Live Be and also walk in Perak Yarkon.
There are people in Haifa who are much more dangerous than these poor wild pigs! be ashamed
We will not stop fighting Yahav and his friends, the bloodthirsty Yahav, cursed activists, pushed Shomer, he and his gang of corrupt thugs represent everything that is ugly in this country, vomit on them
There are so many effective solutions for the pigs and also for us the population of Haifa so as not to kill the poor people who have done no harm to anyone. The opposite is true, we invaded their natural areas so that the real estate sharks would continue to enslave us to excessive consumption with another bigger and more luxurious house, and another luxury neighborhood.
We invaded their territory so they fled to the city to look for food just to survive.
The excuse of 'we invaded their territory' no longer works. The population is growing and the country is not. You have to build to give a roof over your head.
How did the judge reject the petition if the association removed the claim?
On Kalvo's website, which I think covered the decision more neutrally today, it was reported that the association withdrew the lawsuit subject to the process that preceded the petition. It was also reported that the judge criticized the mayor's outburst at the debate, and that he continued outside to confront the activists of the animal organizations.
Sometimes it's good to read important topics on several sites to get a more balanced and non-trendy picture.
Alternatives can be found. without killing
The point is that the municipality. And in general all municipalities are not ready to invest in animals. literally.
And that includes stray cats too...and dogs lost on the street.
And they are duly punished.
God is the best judge.
Look what blows you get.
And don't wake up.
Everything has a solution..if you don't want it.
Easiest to kill. Why invest????
Wait for a wild boar to attack you and you will understand as Vivian Silver understood who was active in the B'Tselem association
My neighbor was hospitalized after a wild boar ran into him while jogging and weeks later had to use a walker.
What are your choices? Return them to nature or to the domain of another authority that will surely refuse?
Every day people are hit by cars, I suggest you stop the traffic. The pigs are mostly harmless, the people who get hurt are the ones who run away and fall and get injured from running away. The pleasure of killing animals is disturbing. Inhumane and unnecessary.
You don't kill for pleasure, but the need to deal with a problem.
The reasoning is that people get hit by cars so taking them off the road is not serious.
Kobi, I'm in favor but also you on the way
Load the pigs and release them into the offices of Let Live Live, in the most humane way

…. Israel - the first country to rule in the jurocracy system.
Why kill the pigs if you can sterilize and castrate them like they do with street cats?!
Beatings go straight.
Without beatings and without yelling and bullying, nothing will move here in Haifa, right?!
If I see pig hunters they end up in a hospital
A country of scum, prefers thousands of wild boars to the damned children you spawn in abundance.
Go fuck us
If the pig - "well known in the neighborhood for the last 5 years." - That says it all!
The pig is not afraid of humans, it roams freely in the neighborhood, so much so that the residents recognize it.
That's the end of the story - such a pig needs to be thinned - why was there another discussion on the subject?
The situation is very bleak and dangerous in Haifa, especially in Carmel and Kiryat Shprincek. There is a large amount of pigs that endanger the population. There are quite a few cases where they are aggressive to the point of harming the residents. to continue more with the wild animals in the dirty enclosures that transmit diseases such as rabies and ticks and endanger human life
Tel Avivians without life and action will go contribute to the war instead of destroying the city of Haifa. For five and a half years, Haifa has suffered from the cessation of thinning that occurs in all the cities around here and the rest of the country. I say let's strip them and bring pigs to Tel Aviv. to their favorite Yarkon Park. We will see how far they will go to embrace and not thin out wild boars.
Until Klish destroyed the city and led to the pig disaster in Haifa, all that was left was to thin them out in quantities. To restore their balance and fear of entering the city.
Those who are not from Haifa should not interfere in the city of Haifa. I say let's catch some pigs and bring to North Tel Aviv. We will see them live with them for a while and then they will come to stop the thinning of the pigs
We did not choose to live in a zoo. We are afraid of them and they have hurt more than once and twice. I don't leave my house in the evening unaccompanied for fear that I will meet a pig, as we have already met before, and I do not know what will go through his mind, and whether I am endangering him and will attack
It's better that pigs roam the streets than people are much more polite and humane
seriously….
The association's representatives do not live in Haifa and have not experienced the quantities of pigs that disrupted our daily routine here. There were many people we sent out of their homes
who were afraid to leave their homes
Lifeless cut off Tel Avivians who are destroying Haifa maybe they will take some pigs back to them in Tel Aviv
Stop the killing of the pigs!
Peace be upon you, none of the members of the government or the Knesset were murdered.
God bless.
Send the pigs very sensitively to the offices of Let Live Live in Tel Aviv where they will find plenty of food and live like kings
