The hunter who became the hunted – by a wild boar

(Haifa) – A Haifa engineer and amateur hunter was moderately injured by an angry wild boar, while hunting in the Kiryat Shmona area.

On the night between Sunday and Monday, a man in his 40s, a resident of Haifa, was taken to the Rambam trauma room by helicopter after being moderately injured in an encounter with a wild boar in orchards in the Kiryat Shmona area.

"I became a hunter for the hunted", says Bhshlomo N.B., an engineer by profession who works in the field of optical lens manufacturing, and in his free time as an amateur hunter who is invited as part of a hunting team by plantation owners and farmers to assist in pest control.

"They told me in a plantation near Kiryat Shmona that they estimated there was a single pig in that plantation, in reality there were close to 30 pigs there. I got to the point where I was facing a female pig and I managed to hit her, but I didn't know that behind me was a huge male pig weighing 250 kilos. The male charged at me, I managed to hit him, but he didn't stop. He grabbed me by the leg, bit me and broke my leg and also tore a central blood vessel. I found myself fighting for my life without bullets from the rifle, hitting him in the head with the butt of the rifle. In the end, he let go and ran on until he was shot by my partner who was lying in ambush not far from me, which ended the fight. I limped to my partner and instructed him to put a tourniquet on me because I was bleeding badly. Then a helicopter arrived and I called the Rambam. I'm sure I'll go back to hunting, but in the future I'll also pay close attention to what's happening behind me."
Maimonides told Hai Pa News Corporation: The hunter who became the hunted is currently being treated in moderate condition in the trauma department at Rambam Medical Center after surgery on the blood vessels that were damaged in his leg.

  1. Dear Haifaites,
Killing animals in any way is not a humane solution. Their reproduction rate is rapid. Preventive activities must be taken, such as: fencing and food centers. Harming the reproductive system through preparations such as food additives. Killing as a sport is not the way to go, unless, God forbid, there is a concern for a safety hazard. It is important to examine the problem and come up with an appropriate solution, just as in the enlightened world, farms are run for animals.

  2. Anyone who provokes animals will end up being known, and certainly among wild animals.

    • Exactly why doesn't a pig have a soul? In short, it's an animal in nature that is not accepted and harassed. Why don't they do the same for street cats? Why is hunting inhumane, if the hunter doesn't complain that he was hunted and shoots them? Shame on you. Think about a path and choose a job without killing animals.

  3. Placing appropriate signage warning of the presence of wild boars and providing driving instructions.
Placing fences to prevent crossing urban roads and paths.
Thinning the wild boar population through legal hunting by a licensed person (Israel Nature and Parks Authority).
Avoiding proximity to residential areas; removing waste and garbage (which is a source of attraction for wild boars).
Fixing trash cans (which are also a significant source of attraction for wild boars).
Enforcement of municipal supervision to ensure strict adherence to the method of distributing food to street cats.
If the municipality did not fulfill its duty, it commits a tort of negligence (Section 35 of the Torts Ordinance).

  4. The ultimate solution to the problem of the poor is to fence off an area in Carmel and make it a nature reserve for pigs. Transfer the vegetable and fruit waste from the market to certain distribution points.

  5. And for all those who feel sorry for the pigs, was the steak you ate delicious? Or is slaughtering cows okay, and killing pigs that physically harm people and scare children okay?

  6. Why do you want to hunt and kill an animal? It lives its life in nature. And you, the human, want to murder it. You deserve what it did to you.

    • Miracles, you killer of cows and chickens.
How many cows did you and your family kill, Nissim? You deserve to die a hard death, Nissim Pigana.

  7. What I didn't understand was how a helicopter got to him. If this had happened to me, a helicopter would have arrived... I don't think so.

  8. This is how karma meets back quickly this time. Everything comes back like a boomerang, and you live here, you don't stop with your poison on the pigs. Aren't you tired of evil??!!

  9. I think all pigs should be exterminated or food should be spread that will harm their sperm.

    • Well done to you, you need to put an end to them.
And to all the pig lovers, if he had stabbed your children, they would have died, and at best they wouldn't have died. You would have wanted to burn them all, so stop tweeting.

  10. An article that presents deliberate harm to animals as if it were a routine matter is not journalism, it is complicity in violence.
Instead of condemning, you educate about cruelty and present it as heroic and colorful.

This is not journalism, this is normalization of abuse and immorality.
This is not how you build a community, this is how you only exacerbate the harm.
This is substandard journalism that needs to be confronted and rejected.

  11. Rise to your kill, rise to kill. Hunter? We are in 2025. This term should be outlawed.
All the idiots who commented here that a wild boar is not a pet and has no business being among humans, we are the invaders and not the wild animals, who are obviously not pets.
More killing is not the solution.

    • Yes, Talia, besides saying this is not the solution, maybe you could say what the solution is?
Do you agree to move because you have wild boars roaming between your legs?
Or are you comfortable with being kind only when the consequences are for others?

  12. Stop with the beauty of the soul, those who are hurt will understand,
All wild boars that dare to invade the city must be eliminated, even if it is the last pig.
This is not a pet and has no business among humans.

  13. All the writers, well done to the pig, don't understand the problem at all.
Mother in Haifa is afraid to send her child
Drink alone with friends, lest a pig attack them.
The pigs roamed areas of Haifa and gave birth to hundreds of pigs.
And for those who have a solution to the problem, they should not write how bad the hunters are, but rather provide a solution.
It's very easy to be an animal lover from afar.
Maybe you'd like Haifa residents to vacate their neighborhoods for the pigs?

  14. Enough of the abuse!!! How does it feel to be attacked??? A heartless hobby!

  15. What is sending hunters? The problem needs to be solved as a whole!!! All the pigs need to be collected and taken to a place far from human habitation!
No one can live in a place where large, sometimes dangerous animals roam.

  16. Is there really a genocide of pigs taking place there? What's the problem with deporting them to Lebanon? By the way, a hunter would never expose his back in the area he hunts.

  17. It's time for the State of Israel, instead of solving the problem by simply killing, to find creative ways to integrate animals into nature and not to keep them away from nature.
What the city of Haifa and its leader are doing is a crime and murder in every sense of the word.
Arriving in the dark without anyone seeing and shooting pigs is just like murdering a human being.
And all the smart people who will tell me that meeting a pig is not sympathetic, so I also met a pig that I was walking with her dog and he didn't do anything to me, he just ran away.
I suggest that the Haifa municipality establish a reserve where they can be fed, perhaps in the Carmel forests, and then they won't have to go down to look for food in populated areas.

    • You were very lucky, don't underestimate me.
But yes, you're right, we have to find a solution!!! The pigs are simply looking for food and there is plenty in the city.

    • Unfortunately, every day reveals again and again that people with good and compassionate hearts are a minority.

    • Hunting has always been helpful to humans – both in keeping pests away and in consuming food.
In many countries, hunting helps to thin out an animal population that has grown beyond the norm and is damaging the fabric of life in the area.
In cities, there are no tigers or wolves to eat the larger pests, so they multiply disproportionately. In such cases, humans can fill the gap.

    • If a pig had run into you while walking a dog, which happened to my elderly neighbor who arrived bruised and in the hospital and needed crutches for weeks, or had snatched a shopping bag from you, you would have spoken differently.
Is killing a pig the same as 'murdering a person'?

  18. Why didn't he kill you, you scum of a person? You're not even a human being, zero zero!!!!!

    • Exactly, this heroic pig protected his family and was murdered by heartless people. It's a story about the misery and misery of people who are hollow, hollow, worthless, and worthless. It's a shame that the pig's work was not completed.

  19. Poor guy. Although he acquired a higher education, he did not acquire compassion for animals. Why hunt? What is this joy of killing?

    • From the abundance of Rahmis, Hamas grew and the pigs multiplied. In both cases, we should be warmed and not pitied, you soft leftist.

  20. I don't understand and can't understand all those who pity and care about pigs that are dangerous to humans and destroy every garden in their path.
If you have solutions for isolating the hundreds of pigs, please offer them, because you wouldn't want to be shot by filthy pigs that could injure or kill you.

    • How much ignorance and fear there is in you is just like how hard it is to understand how much evil there is in a person who hates pigs and is disgusted by the stories that pigs attack me, hang around next to me and do nothing. Just ignorant people who love themselves and are resentful and hate not only pigs but themselves too.

  21. I have no empathy for hunters in general, and when the animal breaks the rules of the game and decides to hunt the hunter, gasp! I recommend you switch to chess – less lethal.

  22. Anyone who murders helpless people as a hobby deserves to be erased from the world.
Everyone has the right to protect themselves from scum, even if they are a pig.

  23. What did he expect that a pig has no feelings and no soul and that it has the right to exist and live in peace? These hunters are doing an act that goes against nature.

  24. I feel sorry for the poor pig, I don't understand how anyone can enjoy hunting, such a cruel activity.

  25. Well done to the pig!!!
Good luck to all the pigs, just finish the job please.

  26. You don't have to be a hunter to reach a situation like this, like the tiger, it's a wild animal and you have to be careful of it. It's unexpected and in any situation where there's a sense of danger, it will pounce on the threat.

    • Wow, how ignorant to compare a tiger to a wild boar.
Where did you learn this as atonement? At the "University of Life"?

  27. Eliminate all wild boars in Haifa immediately! Yona Yahav You promised - you will keep your promise.

    • Straightforward, without hesitation, eliminate all the pigs.
And for the "merciful", take them home as pets.

  28. This will teach you a lesson whether you eat or not.
These pigs, whether you hunt for pleasure or cruelty, have a price, sir.

    • Reuven, are you a pig or just a feeder who likes to socialize with pigs?

    • A war hero lol about a vegetarian animal, a bunch of bored, frustrated cowards who take out their unresolved personalities on helpless, ridiculous, and disgusting animals.

    • With so much sympathy for pigs in Haifa, it seems like this is what this city deserves. Lots of pigs.
