Going out to celebrate New Year's Eve? MDA with a number of safety rules that will help us all return home safely

In the shadow of the war of iron swords, the MDA is prepared with increased forces for the celebrations of the new civil year
As every year, medics and paramedics, volunteers and MDA workers will be deployed on increased alert throughout the country, in order to provide a quick and efficient medical response to any need that may arise during the night of the New Civil Year (New Year's Eve), which will be noted tonight. MDA stations will be reinforced with ambulances and mobile intensive care units and units MDA riding on emergency motorcycles.

On New Year's Eve, during the celebrations that took place last year, MDA teams treated about a thousand people, of which 61 people were injured in traffic accidents, of which 3 were seriously injured, 17 people were injured in violent incidents, of which 2 were moderately injured, and dozens of teenagers and adults who needed treatment as a result Excessive consumption of alcohol.

Every year on New Year's Eve, MDA teams are called to deal with various cases, including excessive consumption of alcohol, traffic accidents and injured from violence and other incidents.

At Magan David Adom, the public is reminded of the relevant safety highlights, designed to maintain the safety and security of the celebrants:
Avoid excessive consumption of alcohol!
Increased consumption of intoxicating drinks can cause poisoning and even death in some cases. It must be remembered that studies prove that alcohol tends to lead to the use of violence by the drinker towards his environment. Driving, riding a bicycle or any other motorized vehicle under the influence of alcohol is prohibited and endangers the lives of the driver and his surroundings.

In an emergency situation following excessive drinking of alcohol, the following instructions must be followed:

• The victim must be kept away from a dangerous place, such as a road, a balcony, electrical machines, vehicles, etc. If the victim is vomiting, turn him on his side. Do not let the victim drink because due to the loss of reflexes, he may inhale any liquid into his lungs and suffocate. If the victim is unconscious and not breathing, start CPR immediately and call the MDA forces by dialing the emergency center 101 or using the "My MDA" app, and the medic at the center will be able to locate your exact location.
  
• Do not leave drink bottles unattended!
• One should avoid leaving glasses or bottles of drinks open unattended at parties, for fear that chemical substances may be introduced into them, such as different types of drugs, energy pills, etc.
• Avoid consuming drugs of any kind:
  
• One time is enough to be harmed by an overdose of a drug. The effects of drug use are often individual and affect each person differently. It is important not to take a risk and make sure you return home safe and sound.
  
• Avoid entering particularly crowded halls:
• Young people planning to spend time at parties with many participants are requested to check upon entering the event the maximum occupancy allowed by the hall, and to avoid squeezing into places where the occupancy exceeds the permitted, for fear of injury as a result of overcrowding and overcrowding.
  
• MDA urges parents of teenagers and children under 18 to note that they do not consume alcohol on New Year's Eve.
  
• The day after the New Year's Eve celebrations that continue into the night is usually a full-fledged working day and there is a significant effect of heavy fatigue. In order to avoid a lack of sleep hours which affects function, concentration and driving, be sure to sleep before getting on the road.
