Miri Regev, Minister of Transportation and Road Safety, Brigadier General (Res.), says:
About forty percent of those killed in road accidents in the last decade were killed in road accidents in urban areas, most of them pedestrians and two-wheeled riders. We are concentrating a special effort, together with the mayors - who have a significant influence - to reduce the phenomenon that, unfortunately, occurs in human lives. Among other things, through various incentives such as the award that is being awarded here today, and of course the 30/50 program that I am promoting at the Ministry of Transportation, which I hope will lead to a 50% reduction in accidents by 2030.
I congratulate the authorities that won the competition and hope that more authorities will join next year.
Moshe ben Zaken, The Director General of the Ministry of Transportation and Road Safety says:
In the issue of road safety, there is an obligation of all the factors in the office and they are available for any matter and inquiries concerning saving lives. One of the first directives of Transport Minister Miri Regev was to give priority to the issues of saving lives and fighting road accidents. This includes a huge investment in infrastructure all over the country and this can be seen in dozens of cities, where works are being carried out with the sole purpose of improving safety. The way to dramatically reduce the number of victims in road accidents is to create a safe environment for road users - pedestrians and users of small tools - while promoting safe infrastructure, slowing down the speed within the cities and towns, increasing enforcement, and building an envelope of education, information, driver training and more.

Dr. Erez Kita, CEO of Haralbad, said at the ceremony:
The cooperation of the Harald with the local authorities is critical in saving human lives. I meet the heads of the authorities committed to the safety of the residents and workers, together with the safety staffs to promote safety around educational institutions, in information, improving infrastructure and enforcement.
Mr. Weizman Mashiach, CEO of the Israel Yaffe Council, says:
The main goal of this important life-saving competition is to promote the awareness and preparedness of the local authority and its residents for the issue of road safety and the improvement of infrastructural conditions for the benefit of road users, as part of a broad concept of raising the quality of life and the environment for the entire population of Israeli residents.
