MDA reminds parents and adults to supervise toddlers while eating. Grapes may cause choking, so they should be cut lengthwise into quarters, depending on the child's age, and not served whole. It is important to seat the toddler while eating and supervise him continuously. MDA emphasizes that in the event of choking, MDA should be called immediately by calling 101 and acting in accordance with the emergency dispatcher's instructions. This incident serves as an important reminder to parents about the dangers of giving food to toddlers without proper cutting and close supervision.
