Volunteers from the Israel Police's "Galil-Carmel" rescue unit were called out this evening (Sunday) to rescue a cyclist who was injured while riding in an open area in Carmel.

According to the report, the rider fell off his bike and suffered a chest injury, with a suspected fracture of his collarbone. Due to the intensity of the pain, he was unable to continue riding and required immediate rescue.
A team of rescuers from the unit joined the injured man in the field, a doctor and a paramedic from the unit provided him with initial medical treatment, and after his condition stabilized, he was taken to a nearby meeting point where an intensive care ambulance was waiting for him, from where he was transferred for further medical treatment at the hospital.
