Last night (Tuesday, September 8, 2026), the inauguration ceremony for the new home of the "Efraim Tzemach" school was held at the new state-religious educational complex at 16 Ariel Sharon Street, in the Nof Yam neighborhood in Tirat Carmel. The ceremony was attended by residents, parents, students, school alumni, education staff, and municipality representatives, who together marked a significant moment for the school community.

A new, modern building that was built in just 12 months
After decades in its previous home, this year the "Efraim Tzemach" school moved to a new, modern and advanced building, which was built in just 12 months, as part of the development of the city's educational institutions. The move to this building is temporary, and it will serve the school community until it returns to its permanent building in the future. The new building provides the students with an advanced, spacious learning environment that is adapted to the needs of the education system, and is part of the new state-religious educational complex, which is developing in the Nof Yam neighborhood. In the months leading up to the start of the school year, the municipal departments, the school administration, the education teams, the project managers, the contractors and the construction personnel worked intensively to complete the work and prepare the building on time.

An exciting ceremony against the backdrop of a sunset overlooking the sea
The ceremony held at the beginning of the new school year included moving moments: an impressive new building, spacious and advanced learning spaces, an entire community gathered together, and in the background the seascape of Tirat Carmel. At sunset, when the sound of the shofar was heard across the sea, the moment took on a special meaning, a connection between tradition and renewal, between the path the school has taken over the years and the new chapter that is now opening.

The mayor, Dudu Cohen, He said at the ceremony: "This is a very exciting moment for me and for the entire city of Tirat Carmel. After many years, the Ephraim Tzemach school community is receiving a new, worthy, progressive and respectful home. We were able to build the building in just 12 months thanks to joint, determined and professional work."

Education portfolio holder: "An investment in education that becomes a reality"
Education Minister, Amy Afomado, She said: "There are moments when you can really see how an investment in education becomes a reality. The new Ephraim Tzemach school is not only a beautiful and advanced building, but a true home for an entire educational community. Seeing students, parents, alumni and staff meeting together here, especially at the beginning of a new year, is a reminder that education is built first and foremost out of belonging, community and faith in our children."
The director of the education department in the Tirat Carmel municipality noted that "the inauguration of the new school is much more than opening a new building. It is about creating an educational environment that allows the educational teams to provide the students with the best possible response."

School principal: "A moment we've been waiting for a long time"
School Principal, Rivka ProusShe added: "This is a moment we have been waiting for for a long time. The move to the new building symbolizes a new and exciting beginning for us, along with the continuation of the path, the values and the educational tradition that have accompanied the school throughout the years. Ephraim Tzemach is much more than a school - it is a community. A community of students, parents, alumni and educational staff, who walk together, support each other and create a true sense of belonging." Peros thanked the Tirat Carmel Municipality, the project managers, the contractors, the construction personnel and the school staff who worked non-stop to prepare the place for the students.
