(haipo) What initially seemed like a routine family vacation in Eilat ended in a large-scale theft case. Following a complex investigation conducted by investigators from the Eilat Regional Police's arrest team, 15 indictments were filed against a couple from Haifa, in their 30s, who are accused of committing a series of thefts from various stores during their vacation in the city, while using their minor children to hide the stolen property and carry out the acts.
According to the indictment, the couple came to Eilat on vacation with their three children, but instead of spending time in the resort town, they turned the vacation into a systematic theft spree from stores throughout the city. The investigation began after the Eilat Regional Police received reports one after another from various businesses about thefts with similar characteristics. The arrest team investigators began collecting evidence, viewing security camera footage, collecting testimonies and connecting the events, until the couple's modus operandi was allegedly revealed.
The investigation revealed that the two used their children, ages 8 and 9, as part of the theft mechanism. In addition, according to the charges, they hid the stolen property in the stroller of their daughter, about 1 year old, in order to avoid suspicion when they left the stores. Police estimate that during the theft spree, property with a cumulative value of more than 100,000 shekels was stolen from various stores throughout Eilat.
For weeks, the investigators of the arrest team conducted an intensive and complex investigation, during which a lot of evidence was collected and an evidentiary infrastructure was built that led to the filing of the indictments. Upon completion of the investigation, the case was transferred to the Eilat Police Prosecution Unit, which filed 15 indictments against the couple for the offenses attributed to them. The father was arrested, and the court ordered his detention until the end of the legal proceedings against him.
The Israel Police noted that this is a particularly serious case, due, among other things, to the suspicion of exploiting minor children in the commission of the offenses, and emphasized the determined activity of investigators in the Eilat area, which led to the exposure of the case and the formation of the evidentiary infrastructure against the suspects.

Mouth gagging.
Soon they will also demonstrate "We will die rather than pay at the cash register"
And of course, identifying details will be removed because it's unpleasant that almost all crime comes from the same sector of the population.
