(Haipo) – The Union of Transportation Committees for Workers reached an agreement this morning (3.6.26) with the management of the Superbus company on a compensation plan for workers for the period of Operation "Roar of the Lion". Following the agreement, the strike planned for tomorrow and including lines in Jerusalem, Haifa (Matronit), Afula and Tiberias was canceled. This is the first time in public transportation that full compensation has been achieved for workers for the period of a military operation.
Compensation agreement: refund of vacation days, salary supplement and risk bonus
According to the agreement reached, compensation will be given to employees deployed for several months. In May, employees who used vacation days during the operation will be entitled to a refund of vacation days. In June, employees will be entitled to a full day of work if they worked part-time during the operation, as well as full pay if they were willing to work and were not assigned. In July, a risk bonus will be given to employees who reported for work during the war. As is customary for employees, the agreement was presented to the employees and received their approval before it came into effect.
Pride in the determination of employees and a call for other companies to adopt the outline
Micha Vaknin, chairman of the workers' committee at Superbus and chairman of the assembly of representatives at the Workers' Force, said, "Just like in the 'Am Kalavi' operation, we are proud to be the first to present a clear outline for workers' compensation. We are proud of the workers for their determined stance and call on the managements of other companies to adopt the outline." Itay Cohen, head of the Transportation branch at the Workers' Force, added: "We congratulate the company's management on reaching agreements in favor of the workers, primarily on additional risk on work during wartime. As we said, we also kept it - we did not allow harm to workers and did not accept a situation in which those who went to work and risked themselves would receive less than those who stayed home."
Electra Afikim strike 2021 postponed following a hearing in the Labor Court
In parallel with the agreement in Superbus, a hearing was held in the Jerusalem Labor Court regarding the planned strike at Electra Afikim 2021. Following the hearing, the committee decided to postpone the strike. At the judge's request, two negotiation meetings will be held between the committee and the company's management by Monday (8.6.26), which will deal with the risk surcharge, and their results will be reported to the court the next day. The developments in both companies reflect the ongoing struggle of public transportation workers to obtain adequate compensation for their work during periods of war.
From Superbus it was delivered to Hai Fa: Superbus Company welcomes the fact that the workers' committee accepted our position and that unnecessary harm to the public was avoided. Following the agreement reached today, the strike planned for tomorrow (4.6.26) is canceled.
The company's management acted out of responsibility and mission to protect the interests of the passenger public and its loyal employees alike, and in the meantime, Superbus formulated a compensation and grant outline for the benefit of its employees for the period of the "Harry's Roar" war.
Superbus CEO Tzachi Naveh: "Out of a deep commitment to employees and the traveling public, we chose to lead a comprehensive and fair compensation plan. I welcome the achievement of the agreement that prevents an unnecessary strike and harm to the traveling public and the company's employees alike. We have proven that professional, businesslike and transparent dialogue is the way to ensure the well-being of the company's employees."

That they don't put the compensation into the paycheck, then it will accumulate into the gross and income tax will feast on the drivers.
