(haipo) Today (Monday, 2.11.26) the Hebrew Real School in Haifa hosted the "Race in Their Memory", the traditional commemorative race dedicated to the memory of 328 school graduates and staff members who fell in Israeli wars and hostilities. Approximately 2,000 students, teachers, staff members and representatives of bereaved families participated in the moving event of remembrance, appreciation and continuity.
The race course and its start in the presence of the Deputy Mayor
The commemorative race was launched at 12:40 on the Beit Biram campus. Haifa Deputy Mayor, Mrs. Sophie Nakash, honored the event with her presence and launched the race. The running route circled the Beit Biram campus, passed through Einstein Street and reached the military boarding school. Approximately 2,000 Beit Biram students, teachers, staff members and representatives of the bereaved families participated in the race, who ran together in memory of the fallen.
A comprehensive educational process that culminated in a race
The race, which is far more than a sporting event, was the culmination of an educational process in which the students learned about the lives and stories of those who fell from various periods throughout the school's history to the present day.
Ido Mazursky, CEO of the school, said: "The connection between the Reali family and the bereaved families is a deep one and is an inseparable part of the school's identity. The 'Race in Their Memory' expresses our commitment to commemorate our fallen alumni and staff members and to pass on their stories to future generations. When thousands of students and teachers run alongside the bereaved families, an exciting connection is created between past and present, between personal memory and shared memory, and between pain and hope and continuity."
At the end of the race, certificates of appreciation were awarded to the leading runners and students from the school and staff.

I sympathize with the pain, may the memory of the fallen be blessed. I greatly appreciate your work to strengthen our connection to the people of Israel, its land and its heritage. One of the pillars of my soul is the Memorial Day ceremonies at school. 🕯🙏 T.N.C.B.E.
