(Haipo) – A 12-year-old Haifa resident was seriously injured in a traffic accident that occurred on Derech Hayam Street at the corner of Shlomo Hamel in Haifa, involving a car and an electric scooter. At 14:44 PM, a report was received at the MDA 101 hotline in the Carmel area about an electric scooter rider who was hit by a vehicle on Derech Hayam Street at the corner of Shlomo Hamel in Haifa. MDA medics and paramedics arrived at the scene and provided medical treatment to a 12-year-old Haifa resident who is in serious condition with multiple system injuries. The child was evacuated in an MDA intensive care unit to Rambam Hospital in the city. Haifa police officers and Carmel area traffic accident investigators also arrived at the scene and began investigating the circumstances of the accident.

MDA paramedic Ahmed Khatib, who treated the injured man at the scene of the accident, said that the boy was found lying on the spot suffering from multiple injuries after being injured while riding an electric scooter. "We provided him with medical treatment and evacuated him in an MDA intensive care unit to the city hospital in serious condition," the paramedic described. The police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the accident and at this point it is unknown what led to its occurrence.
