(haipo) As part of the extensive road upgrade project being carried out in Haifa in recent months, the Haifa Municipality will carry out tomorrow (Wednesday, 12.8.26) and on Thursday Scrubbing and stratification work on Shimshon Road, in the section between Moriah Boulevard and Yotam Street. The work will take place Between 08:00 and 16:00, during which the street will be closed to traffic in both directions.

Closing the street in both directions and prohibiting parking along the work section
During work hours, between 08:00 and 16:00, Shimshon Street will be closed to vehicle traffic in both directions in the section where the scrubbing and grading work will be carried out. In addition to the road closure, parking will not be allowed along the work section, including in the private parking lots located on site. This is part of a large-scale road upgrade project that the Haifa Municipality has been carrying out in the city in recent months, and these works are a direct continuation of this process.

Calling the public to avoid the area and choose alternative routes
The Haifa Municipality is appealing to residents and drivers to avoid the Shimshon Street area during construction hours. The public is asked to follow the instructions provided on site and to refer to the signage that will be posted there, as well as to choose alternative travel routes in order to avoid delays and traffic jams. The closure of the street in both directions is expected to affect vehicle traffic in the area, so it is recommended to plan travel routes in advance and prepare for temporary changes in traffic regulations.

That's great. The fact that the electric company plans to close Operation Yonatan Street for three months is a real disaster.
The Haifa municipality hasn't heard yet that it's possible to work at night. But what, it costs a lot more and to hell with the residents and drivers.
Closed in one direction for a month and a half, an urban disaster
True, but then residents on the street will come forward with complaints, and rightly so, that the vibration of work deprives them of rest and also working at night means higher wages, and that's what the municipality wants to save.
They are so arrogant that they work at night in Makop, when there are no traffic jams, that it will be the most difficult and uncomfortable for the residents, and property taxes will continue to rise. A city that should be ashamed of itself for serving its citizens.
It was announced by the authorities (Haifa Municipality / Carmel Waters) that the work on Shimshon Street will be carried out during July 2026.
We are already in August and the work is still not finished. Planning separately and execution separately.
