(haipo) The late Yoel Danino, founder and CEO of the "Tsuki Yaelim" tour company, has passed away. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, Iyar 19, 5785 (May 6, 2026), at 4:30 PM at the Sde Yehoshua Cemetery, Shaar Brosh in Haifa. The funeral will be held at 87 Shvedya Street in Haifa.
Teacher, guide and founder of a leading tour company
Yoel Danino graduated from the Department of Land of Israel Studies at Beit Berl College, and began his professional career as a teacher of the Israeli language at the Alliance School in Haifa. In 1988, he founded the "Zuki Yaelim" company, after gathering around him a group of veteran guides who had toured the length and breadth of the country. The name "Zuki Yaelim" was chosen as a symbol for the combination of the still, lofty, and hidden nature represented by the cliff, and the proud yaelim who learned to know the secrets of nature and find his way among magical corners far from human eyes. Danino believed that the quality of the guides was a decisive factor and a guarantee of high-quality service, and from the beginning of the company, the guides were selected with great care, as having a strong affinity for the values of field trips and for trips as a means of strengthening the connection with the Land of Israel.
A deep connection to Haifa and memory
Joel's friends described him as "a special man, a lover of people and nature," and testified that they loved hiking with him. Over the years, the "Zuki Yaelim" company served as a home for its guides, a home that constantly continued to cultivate their professional ability and the friendships between them. The relationship between the company's guides and their clients, and their good and professional reputation, have become a long-standing tradition among schools and educational institutions throughout the country.
