(Haipo) – The Nahal Lotem Community and the Israeli Center for Citizen Science invite the public to an urban nature workshop that will take place on Thursday, May 14, between 17:00 PM and 18:30 PM, at Nahal Lotem in Haifa, on Europe Exit Street. The workshop is free of charge, intended for all ages, and participation is conditional on advance registration.

A workshop that connects residents and the world of research
During the workshop, participants will learn how to turn their everyday knowledge into a real scientific tool. Using their mobile phones, participants will be able to monitor plants, animals, and fungi in the Lotem Stream area, and share their findings with the research community. The goal of the workshop is to help researchers obtain up-to-date and accurate information about what is happening in the field, while utilizing the knowledge gained by residents who know the area intimately. The workshop will be led by presenters from the Israel Center for Citizen Science.
Community event open to all ages
The workshop is intended for the general public and all ages, and is free of charge. Participation is conditional on advance registration. The event is organized in collaboration with many parties, including the Society for the Protection of Nature – Streams Unit, the Lotem Stream Community, Tel Aviv University, the Steinhardt Museum of Natural History, the Carmel Drainage and Lands Authority, the Haifa Municipality, and the Tzalul organization in the authorities. This is a unique opportunity for Haifa residents to actively contribute to the scientific research of their immediate environment and to deepen their connection with urban nature.
