The Ministry of Health warns the public against bathing at Beit Yanai beach as well as marine activities in the area of the mouth of Nahal Alexander. In addition, the ministry also warns against contact with the river water from road 444, near the Tzur Yitzhak intersection to the spillway. The warning is valid until further notice.
The bathing warning is due to a malfunction in the sewage pipeline that collects the sewage from the settlements of Taiba and Tzur Yitzhak, which causes sewage to reach Nahal Alexander and Beit Yanai beach.
This situation significantly worsens the water quality of Nahal Alexander and increases the risk to those who come into contact with their people, as well as to those bathing around the mouth of the stream and on the beach of Beit Yanai, which is located near the mouth of the stream.
The Ministry of Health continues to monitor the repair of the malfunction and will update the public accordingly.
