Municipal inspectors were violently attacked and required medical treatment

(haipo) A serious violent incident occurred last Wednesday (10/28/26), in the evening hours at the Nirvana parking lot on Zamir Beach in Haifa, after municipal inspectors arrived at the scene following a report of noise and a gathering of modified vehicles and motorcycles. During the incident, the inspectors were attacked with physical and verbal violence, and later, police officers who arrived at the scene were also attacked. Two municipal inspectors were injured and required medical treatment at a hospital.

Details of the incident indicate that on Wednesday, around 21:00 PM, about 40 young people gathered at the Nirvana parking lot on Zamir Beach, arriving at the scene with modified vehicles and motorcycles. Following the noise and crowding, which was a nuisance to the environment, municipal inspectors arrived at the scene in order to deal with the incident.

The inspectors approached the young men and asked them to identify themselves and present their IDs. At the same time, they documented what was happening at the scene as part of handling the incident. However, according to the testimonies, the young men refused to cooperate, and the exchange that developed between the parties quickly deteriorated into curses, threats, and a violent confrontation.

According to information received by word of mouth from a source familiar with the details, initially the inspectors were subjected to harsh and blatant verbal abuse, including swearing and threats. At one point, the inspectors moved away from the scene to call for reinforcements, but then, according to the testimonies, about 15 young men attacked one of the inspectors and violently attacked him. The second inspector, who arrived to help and tried to use pepper spray, was also attacked.

Following the incident, police forces were called to the scene, but the police officers who arrived on the scene were also met with violence from some of the people involved. As a result of the attacks, two municipal inspectors were injured and required medical treatment in a hospital.

The incident once again raises the issue of violence against public servants who are required to deal with threats and disturbances in the course of their work, and the dangers to which they may be exposed while performing their duties.

The Haifa Municipality informed Haifa: "The Haifa Municipality views the incident, during which municipal inspectors were attacked in a very serious manner and required medical treatment, with great seriousness. This is an incident that could have ended with even more serious consequences, had it not been for the intervention of the police. Following the incident, the municipality filed a complaint with the police and even conducted an investigation with the participation of all relevant municipal officials.

"The findings of the investigation will be forwarded to the municipality's CEO and then to the mayor, for the purpose of examining the issue and making decisions regarding the steps required to prevent the recurrence of similar cases in the future."

The police have yet to respond.

  1. A purely police matter.
A group of dozens of rioters needs a force of 10+ police officers with appropriate balls and tools!
Sure, some cars and motorcycles could have been confiscated. Fines too!
This is money for the state treasury!

We got the opposite result. State spending on hospitalizations is lost time. Maybe also the reputation of authorities (if there is such a thing as this)

  2. We all know what sector those "young people" come from.
The concealment of the extent of violence in the sector has become ridiculous.

  3. They received power, those who understand will understand.
They are just waiting for leverage to streamline their intentions towards the law and control violence and cause fear in the townspeople.
If there were police, why didn't they use reasonable force for the purpose? Why are there Tasers or weapons? This is where deterrence begins. Failure to deter will lead to continued excessive violence.

  4. Why aren't arrests and sentences reported? In the US, the police open fire on people like this. There's no such thing as attacking police officers and then "we take it seriously," you see, and what did you do?!

  5. Why are you distorting the truth? These are 40 young people from the sector. They are the root of all evil in the city, and what is strange is that there are still Haifa residents who believe in coexistence with Israel haters. October 7 in Haifa is only a matter of time.

    • …right.
Now they will raise their heads, but once again we persist in sweeping this under the rug.
In the end it will explode and we'll say the writing was on the wall...etc.
It won't help someone who has already lost their life, food for thought.

  6. We must stop the violence and the management of two-wheelers and vehicles in the entire area, starting from Hagana Boulevard, where night after night there are competitions at the risk of road users. Of course, with improved engines that cause noises like gunshots. Unfortunately, the police and all enforcement systems are not aggressive. With all due respect, this is lawlessness that the entire sector celebrates due to the lack of power of the enforcement system!!
