Israel Savyon commented on the significance of the championships and said: "These competitions are far beyond a game and competition. They are part of our effort to alleviate loneliness, create encounters between people and give senior citizens in Haifa more activities, interests and opportunities to meet people with common interests. We will continue to develop activities that connect people and create a community." According to him, the possibility of making the championships an annual tradition is being considered, and next year there is even a national bridge competition that will be held in Haifa.

Social goals and additional competition in Kiryat Haim
Milev noted that, alongside the competition for first place, the championships are part of the activities taking place in the city for senior citizens, with the aim of alleviating loneliness, creating social gatherings and offering activities and interest around shared hobbies. Meanwhile, registration for the chess championship for senior citizens in Kiryat Haim is ongoing, and those interested are invited to register via an online form.
