Get to know Haifa on two wheels: The urban navigation game returns – 31.10.26

(haipo) Not a bicycle race on a fixed route, but a navigation game in which participants determine their own route: On October 31st, it will be held in Haifa (WombatQuest IV) "Wombquest" IV", an urban navigation challenge that combines cycling, locating checkpoints, and competing for the Wombat Cup. Participation is free, but the number of places is limited.

The city map in your hands

On October 31, 2026, Haifa will host the fourth edition of WombQuest, an urban navigation game designed for cyclists aged 18 and over. Unlike a group ride or a race on a pre-determined route, here participants are required to navigate independently around the city, choose the order in which they visit checkpoints, and plan the route that they believe will lead them to the best result.

Each participant will receive a city map and set out to locate checkpoints scattered throughout Haifa. The challenge combines spatial orientation, route planning, and decision-making while on the move, with the goal of accumulating points and competing for the best result.

Wombatquest4 – Wombatquest IV

Navigation using your phone and QR codes

The game uses a dedicated web application that will accompany participants throughout the activity. The application will display images of the checkpoints, and reaching them will be verified by scanning QR codes. The system will calculate the results and determine which of the participants managed to best combine efficient navigation with accumulating points.

The format gives each rider the freedom to choose their own course of action: which points to visit first, which route to take, and how to utilize the time available to them. This turns city riding into a strategic game, where not only speed matters, but also the ability to navigate and plan.

Departing from Benjamin Park

The start of the event will take place On Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 10:00 AM, From Benjamin Park, near the Municipal Theater in Haifa.

Participation is intended for boys and girls 18 and older who ride regular bicycles, without an electric motor. Participation is free of charge, but the number of places is limited, so advance registration is required.

Each participant who reaches the finish line will receive a souvenir medal. The leaders in the competition will be awarded medals, and the winner
The big one awaits: the Wombat Cup — the main prize of the event.

An opportunity to discover Haifa from a different angle

WombQuest is taking place in Haifa for the fourth time, and offers a different way to get to know the city's streets: instead of following a familiar route, participants are required to read the map, make decisions, and discover points along the way.
