From managing the education system in Haifa to managing Oranim College
Pessler brings with him a wealth of management experience in the education system, having accumulated a number of senior positions in Israel and the United States. For 17 years, he served as director of the Leo Buck Education Center in Haifa, and later held management positions in the municipal education systems in Haifa and Tirat Carmel.
During his career, he also served as CEO of the Education Network, CEO of the JCC organization in Pennsylvania, and CEO of the Israeli Center for Excellence in Education (YASA). In addition, he was a member of the Ministry of Education's State Committee for Gifted and Outstanding Students.
Management experience and academic education
Pessler holds a BA with honors in political science and history of the Jewish people from the University of Haifa, a MA in human resources management and training from the University of Leicester in England, as well as executive training at Harvard Business School in the United States.
In his new position, he is expected to work alongside Oranim's management to strengthen the college, continue its development, and adapt its activities to the changing needs of the education system and academia.
"An opportunity to influence where the path of future teachers begins"
President of Oranim College, Prof. Shimon Amar, welcomed the appointment and said: "I welcome Danny Pessler's joining Oranim. Danny brings with him a deep familiarity with the education system, rich managerial experience and an understanding of the challenges facing educational institutions and academia. At a time when the role of women and educators is becoming more complex and demanding, our responsibility is to provide them with quality training, professional tools and confidence in their ability to influence and educate the future generation. I am confident that Danny will be a significant partner in advancing this mission and in the development of the college in the years to come."
Pessler commented on the appointment and said that he sees it as an opportunity to continue his professional path in the field of education, and also as a kind of closing the circle.
"Throughout my professional career, I have seen how much educators can change the course of the lives of children and young people. Joining Oranim is both a closing of the circle for me as someone who began his educational journey about 40 years ago as a teacher, and also an opportunity to influence the place where the professional journey of future teachers begins," he said.
He added that he thanks the college administration for the trust placed in him, and that he looks forward to working in collaboration with Oranim's administration, faculty, and employees, listening to the needs of students, and continuing to develop the college as a leading institution in Israel.
