A rare encounter in the waters of the Gulf
Inspectors Ilya Baskin and Shai Cabasa from the Nature and Parks Authority's marine unit were on a routine tour of Haifa Bay when a pod of five common dolphins, including two pups, appeared alongside the boat. The dolphins displayed curious and playful behavior and accompanied the boat for a short time. As explained by Ilya Baskin, a marine inspector at the Nature and Parks Authority: "Sightings of this type in the Haifa Bay area are considered rare and emphasize the importance of protecting the marine environment."

The common dolphin – a social and intelligent marine mammal
The common dolphin is a highly intelligent marine mammal, living in social pods and exhibiting complex communication and cooperative hunting. The pups are born after a gestation period of about a year and remain with their mother for an extended period, during which they learn survival and navigation skills at sea. The presence of two pups in a pod observed in Haifa Bay indicates reproductive activity of the species in the area, and reinforces the importance of preserving the marine environment and protecting the natural habitats of these mammals in the waters of the bay.

Amazing! We must keep the water clean. May they stay here and multiply.
