The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection report abnormal results in water sampling carried out to examine the state of pollution in streams in the north of the country, and inform travelers and local authorities that entering these streams may be dangerous.
Abnormal results that indicate infection
The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection are informing the traveling public and the regional and local councils of unusual results in water sampling carried out to examine the state of pollution in the streams in the north. In tests for bacteria in a sample taken on September 26, 2023, results were found in several streams in the north that exceed the recommendations of the Ministry of Health (400 fecal sounds per 100 ml) and indicate the presence of water contamination.
The results obtained:
- Shanir (Military) – the Roman bridge: 2,200; Hydroelectric station: 5,000; Estuary to Jordan: 5,000.
- Banias Kfar Sold village bridge: 6,00.
- Jordan - Gesher Yosef: 1,800; The Bashan Flame Bridge: 4,200; Bridge of Five: 2,100; Hori Bridge: 2,000; Jordan from Masad Atart: 2,500; Jordan Gesher Dodot: 3,500; Eric Bridge: 1,700.

- Tsalmon - the carob pool P.M.; Flour mill: P.M. (A plate covered with bacteria - a high count of bacteria that cannot be quantified).
- Mustard eye: 470.
In view of these results, entering these streams may be dangerous until the obtained sampling results are normal and stable:
- Shanir (Hatsbani) - from the Roman bridge to the mouth of the Jordan.
- Banias - Kfar Sold bridge.
- Jordan - from Gesher Yosef to the estuary of the Sea of Galilee.

- Gilbon.
- The hexagon pool.

- Zalmon - the carob pool and flour station.
- Mustard eye.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection found no known source of pollution in the streams
Sampling is carried out from one sample every two weeks through Nature and Parks Authority inspectors, at fixed sampling points in the northern streams (Upper Galilee, Golan and Western Galilee). The dots represent a waterfall, a pond or a section of a stream.
The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection continue sampling and monitoring and will update as needed.
