A black substance that looks like tar and pollution that comes out of the drainage pipe in Nahal Saadia • The fear: flooding and spreading with the arrival of the first heavy rain
Hai Pa News Corporation received photos taken in the last few days, which show the severe neglect prevailing in Nahal Saadia, about which much has been written in Hai Pa during the past months. The beautiful and special stream, located in the heart of Haifa, has been suffering from extreme neglect and the dangers of sewage discharge for years.
In the attached photos it is easy to see that the thing that separates the pollution that comes out of the drainage pipe from the rest of the area of the stream is an extremely low dam, that with the arrival of the first rain, not all the pollution will rise and spread to the rest of the stream, which will kill the fish that live and swim in the stream and destroy the vegetation.
Rani Fern, who was walking in the river and took the photos, told Lehi Feh-Corporation News:
This is criminal neglect that has been going on for years. The issue must be treated before the infection spreads. It is a pollution that can be prevented, otherwise it will cause severe ecological damage, as a result of which hundreds of fish that currently live in the stream will be killed and the vegetation in it will be destroyed.

Deputy Mayor of Haifa, Chairman of the Greens Avihu Han, told the News Corporation in response:
I expect Haifa Municipality to take command and act against the various pollutants of the stream.
The municipality of Haifa must adopt a tough enforcement policy against the criminals.
I expect the mayor to immediately prepare a plan to preserve the river and make it accessible to travelers.
The current reality of inactivity is bad for all factors and must change.
Kudos to the many activists who are working in the stream today to preserve the important ecology that exists in this lovely area.

It should be noted that last August the Ministry of Environmental Protection sent an alert to the Haifa Municipality following the contamination of the Saadia River with sewage and emphasized that the municipality is required to take all measures to immediately stop the flow of sewage from the drainage system. Because the drainage lines of the industrial zone at Check Post in Haifa Bay, the drainage belongs to the Haifa Municipality.
If that's not enough, just last month (September) a tour of the creek was held at the initiative of Deputy Mayor Avihu Han, and in the presence of MK Alon Tal of Blue and White, with the aim of addressing the various hazards in the creek and the flow of wastewater to the amazing natural gem in the heart of Haifa.
Haifa Municipality refused to comment.

Kudos to all the activists who were activated today in Nahal Saadia. Have a nice evening.
An unfortunate case and at the same time an opportunity to offer a proven solution: sell the stream to a private entity. The owners will take care of the property's environmental quality, something a government body cannot do.
Municipality of Harfa.
These days with pig crime, eliminations and infections it's hard for me to say I'm from Haifa. Usually there are only reactions of compassion and participation in the difficult situation of the city.
