Illegal weapons cache uncovered in Haifa's Hadar neighborhood – three arrested

(Haipo) – Carmel Police officers uncovered an unusually large illegal weapons cache in the Hadar neighborhood of Haifa yesterday, as part of a proactive and targeted operation. The cache contained pistols, rifles, a grenade launcher, various types of live ammunition, and other weapons. Three suspects, residents of the city, were arrested for questioning.

Unusual weapons cache in the heart of a residential neighborhood

During a search conducted by Haifa police in the Hadar neighborhood, an illegal weapons cache was uncovered in the heart of a residential neighborhood. The cache included a wide variety of weapons and ammunition: revolvers, .0.22 caliber pistols, pen guns, shotguns, dart guns, a spray grenade, flares, cartridges, various types of live ammunition, and additional weapon parts. The activity was carried out as part of the Carmel Region police's fight against the possession of illegal weapons and with the aim of thwarting serious crime.

Three suspects arrested – police will request an extension of their detention

As part of the operation, three suspects, residents of the city, were arrested and taken for questioning at the Haifa station. The police announced that today, in accordance with the needs and findings of the investigation, a request will be submitted to the court to extend their detention. The Israel Police emphasized that they will continue to act with determination and zero tolerance against the possession of illegal weapons, while damaging the infrastructure of crime and thwarting the danger posed to public safety and security.
