(Haipo) – A car accident between a private vehicle and a truck occurred at noon on Highway 2 near the Haifa South Interchange. The truck overturned and the driver was trapped inside. Fire and rescue teams rescued him, and his condition was classified as moderate with injuries to his limbs. The injured person was taken to Rambam Hospital.

At 11:47, a report was received at the MDA 101 hotline in the Carmel area about a truck that overturned on Highway 2 near the Haifa South Interchange. This was a road accident between a private vehicle and a truck, as a result of which the truck overturned and the driver, a man aged about 65, was trapped inside. MDA medics and paramedics arrived at the scene and provided the injured man with medical treatment. His condition was classified as moderate with injuries to his limbs, and he was taken to Rambam Hospital. Shlomo Mishkovsky, a medic and ambulance driver with the United Hatzalah, said that "This is a truck that overturned. I provided initial medical aid to the truck driver, who at this stage is classified as moderate after his limbs were injured."
Complex rescue and scene scans
Fire and rescue teams from the Haifa station worked at the scene to rescue the trapped person from the overturned truck. The rescue was carried out in cooperation with medical personnel on site, including MDA and United Hatzalah teams. In addition to the rescue operation, firefighters conducted scans of the scene to rule out the presence of additional casualties, and worked to disconnect the energy sources in the vehicles involved in the accident to prevent further dangers. Fire crews were required to operate at the scene due to the unusual nature of the accident and the rollover.
