A moment of alertness and resourcefulness that prevented a major disaster

Last week, most of us watched the plane incident almost from its first moments...

Gregory Hikin's wedding day was supposed to be full of excitement, final preparations, and smiles. But just hours before the wedding, a severe migraine attack threatened to disrupt the big moment. With the medicine in his hands but unable to inject himself, and with clinics already closed, a race against time began to find a medical solution. The solution came from an unexpected place, the community emergency room at Clalit's Lin Specialist Center in Haifa.

Migraine attack on wedding day

Gregory, who had recently received a novel treatment for migraines, found himself dealing with intense pain that made it difficult for him to function. The excitement, stress, and pain made self-injection impossible. Time passed, the clinics were closed, and he and his partner Esther began searching for a medical professional who could help administer the medication, before it was too late.

Race against time

After trying to find a professional who was familiar with the treatment, the couple arrived at the community emergency room at Clalit's Lin Specialist Center. Nurse Polina and the nursing team worked quickly and diligently to find a qualified medical professional who could administer the injection.

During the investigation, it became clear that Dr. Hiba, a physician at the center, is well-versed in the treatment and how to administer the medication. She received Gregory in the emergency room, administered the injection, and after a short time, the groom began to feel significant relief.

"Teamwork and dedication in an unusual situation"

The team says that the incident moved everyone: ""It was a moving example of teamwork, dedication, and willingness to find a solution even in an unusual situation. It was clear to us that beyond medical care, we were meeting a person at one of the most significant moments in their life and wanted to do everything possible to ensure they could attend their wedding."

Also open on Fridays, Saturdays and holidays

The community emergency room at Clalit's Lin Specialist Center in Haifa provides medical service that is also available on Fridays, Saturdays, holiday evenings, and holidays, proving once again its importance in urgent cases that do not require a hospital, but definitely require a professional and quick response.

    • I assure you, with a migraine attack like that, he would rather get married 12 times than suffer the pain.
