(haipo) – After months of volatility, the Ministry of Energy announced that starting July 1, the maximum price of a liter of 95-octane gasoline at self-service stations will be 7.48 shekels. This is the sharpest drop in the last three months, with a total price reduction of 59 agorot since April.
Drivers across the country will benefit from a significant reduction in fuel prices starting at midnight between Tuesday and Wednesday (1/7/26). The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure announced today (Sunday 28/6/26) that the maximum price of a liter of 95 octane unleaded gasoline in self-service will be 7.48 shekels per liter, a decrease of 32 agorots compared to the price that was in effect during June. The surcharge for full service will remain unchanged at 25 agorots per liter. In Eilat, where prices do not include VAT, the maximum price will be 6.34 shekels per liter, a decrease of 27 agorots.
The Ministry of Energy notes that this is the most significant monthly decrease in the last three months. In fact, since April, the price of gasoline has been reduced by 59 Agorat per liter, which is significant news for car owners, especially during the summer period characterized by an increase in travel.

According to Batsheva Abuhatsira, According to the Director of the Fuel and Gas Administration at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the discount is mainly due to the weakening of gasoline prices in international markets, following a decrease in the risk premium in energy markets and the fading of some of the concerns about disruptions in global oil supplies. As a result, the international price of gasoline fell by about 16%. However, the strengthening of the dollar against the shekel by about 6% offset some of the discount that could have reached consumers.
According to data from the Ministry of Energy, out of a price of 7.48 shekels per liter, about 48% of the amount consists of excise tax, about 15% of VAT, about 28% of the international gasoline price, and the remainder from the marketing expense basket and other components.
The Ministry of Energy calls on the public to continue comparing prices between different gas stations, as even within the framework of the monitored maximum price, there are price gaps and discounts between the various stations, which can lead to additional savings for drivers.
