During hospitalization, the baby was connected to an ACMO device, but unfortunately his condition did not improve and he died today. He was a healthy baby with no underlying diseases, who had not yet had time to be vaccinated against measles. With his death, the number of deaths from the disease rose to 12. According to Ministry of Health data, most of the deceased so far are healthy babies, with no underlying diseases, who were not vaccinated against measles.

From Carmel Hospital"It was reported that, fortunately, no hospitalizations due to measles were recorded at the institution."
Bnei Zion Hospital stated: "We have not recorded any hospitalizations due to measles."
The vaccine saves lives
The Ministry of Health reiterates that measles is a serious and life-threatening disease, but it can be prevented through an effective and safe vaccine. “The vaccine saves lives.”
According to the routine vaccination schedule, it is recommended that all children be vaccinated at the age of one and six. In areas where there is an active outbreak of the disease, the ministry recommends advancing the second dose to one and a half years of age, as well as giving an additional dose of vaccine to infants aged 6 to 11 months, especially in areas affected by an outbreak or before traveling to such areas.
Currently, the outbreak includes the following cities and towns: Jerusalem, Beit Shemesh, Bnei Brak, Harish, Modi'in Illit, Nof HaGalil, Kiryat Gat, Ashdod, Safed, Netivot, Haifa, Tiberias, the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council and the town of Tekoa. In these towns, you can go without making an appointment to the milk drops, health insurance funds and the designated vaccination stations that were established to boost vaccination efforts.
Recommendation to the public
The Ministry of Health recommends that unvaccinated people, as well as parents of infants who received only one dose of the vaccine at the age of 6–11 months, avoid participating in multi-participant events in areas with an outbreak, due to the high risk of infection.
