Dana Meir Jung lost her husband, the late Ofer Jung, a little over six months ago, and was left alone with her two little ones, Uri (2.5) and Eitan (1.5). Ofer, only 39 years old, was killed two months before the end of his reserve service, after he first attacked a terrorist who opened fire on his team's pillbox, in order to prevent a greater disaster.
Dana's ground suddenly dropped from under her feet, she lost the love of her life, she is dealing with immense grief and is protective of the children. And what do you actually answer a 2.5-year-old child who doesn't stop asking where his father is and when he's coming back?

It is precisely from this place, to try to provide some stability amidst all the chaos, that we are running a crowdfunding campaign for her, to try to create some stability amidst the chaos and grief - and everyone who has been exposed so far proves once again that our people have no heart.
Maj. Gen. (res.) Ofer Jung, late
On February 4, 2025, during reserve duty at the Taysir checkpoint in northern Samaria, a terrorist sneaked into the pillbox of the team of Maj. (res.) Ofer Jung and opened fire. Ofer, who served as a squad commander in the 8211th Battalion, Ephraim Brigade, was the first to respond. He rushed into the fire in an attempt to stop the terrorist and prevent a greater disaster. For this heroism, he paid with his life and fell in battle, at the age of only 39, about two months before the end of reserve duty, leaving behind his wife Dana and their 2 children, Uri (2.5) and Eitan (1.5).
Ofer was a green building engineer, an ardent fan of Maccabi Haifa, a smart and humble man who was always willing to help. His friends describe him as a true altruist, a rare figure who connected people wherever he was.

He met Dana, the love of his life, by chance on a trip to Sinai six years ago. She says that from the first moment she knew the search was over. They had the most amazing relationship a person could wish for. It was the home she had been looking for all these years. Together they built a family and brought two young children into the world, Uri and Eitan.
Since his fall, Dana has been dealing with immense and unimaginable pain alone, trying to give their two children a life full of love and security. Alongside little Uri's questions, "When will dad come back?" She bravely bears the grief and raising the children alone, day after day.
Out of a sense of responsibility, his battalion comrades and her good friends decided to open Crowdfunding campaign To give Dana, Uri, and Eitan a little stability amidst the uncertainty and pain.
