(haipo) – The late Major General Benny Assulin was only 28 years old when he fell in battle in Beit Hanoun, Gaza Strip, on July 7, 2025, while he was out rescuing soldiers from a kidnapping at an IED scene. Now his family, friends, and those who cherish his memory are asking to establish a memorial corner in Haifa that will tell future generations the story of his life, his heroism, and the values he left behind. The public is invited to take part in the project by donating and sharing.
Benny Assulin: Musician, high-tech man and a man of giving
My son was a man of joy, love of people, and giving. Alongside his military service, he was a talented musician, a respected high-tech man, a friend, and a person who was always there for others.
When he was called up for reserve duty, Benny left his routine life behind and went to serve the country. On July 7, 2025, during the battles in Beit Hanoun, he went to rescue soldiers who were in danger of being kidnapped at an IED scene and fell in battle.
In his final moments, my son acted as he lived his life: with courage, dedication, responsibility, and concern for others.

Returning to where childhood memories began
The memorial corner is planned to be built in Kawdres Garden in Haifa, a place connected to my son's childhood memories and his life story.
The goal is to create not only a place of remembrance, but a living and accessible space where children, families and residents can stop, get to know my son and learn about the man he was, his heroism and the values that characterized him.
A work of art that will tell its story
At the center of the memorial corner will be a unique artistic element created by artist Alex Falkowitz. The work is intended to express my son's story, his personality, and the connection between his personal world and his military service.
The memorial corner will allow visitors to be exposed to the image of my son as a man of music, action, friendship, giving, and love of the country, and to preserve his memory as part of the public space of the city of Haifa.
Now the public can be part of the commemoration
To make the plan a reality, public help is needed.
Every donation, in any amount, brings the project closer to completion and makes it possible to establish a place that will last for generations. A place where children who were not yet born on the day my son fell will be able in the future to ask who the man who is being commemorated here was, and to hear his story.
The donation to the memorial corner is actually a partnership in preserving the memory and passing on my son's story to future generations.
Open your heart, donate and share
My son's family and those who cherish his memory are calling on the public in Haifa, the north, and throughout the country to join the project.
Every donation is important. Sharing the project can also bring it to more people and help complete the memorial corner.
