The pilot Ilan Papini, 60 years old from Haifa, died of his injuries after crashing a light plane in the Megiddo area of the Jezreel Valley. Pepini, married and father of two, was evacuated on Friday 9.2.24/XNUMX/XNUMX, sedated and ventilated to the Emek Hospital in Afula, suffering from multi-system damage. He was pronounced dead there after a few hours.
Ilan left behind a wife and two children. His funeral will be held today in Tel Regev at 14:00. The family sits in his brother's house at 41 Einstein Street, Haifa.
I didn't want him to be dead, I wanted him to be at home alive and well and watching TV with me as usual!!
In the last two years I kept asking and begging Ilan to stop taking another risk on his life with all these flights. I kept asking him, including on the Thursday night before he took the fateful flight on Friday. So he always told me soothing wise stories and I believed him, because what do I understand about flying or airplanes.... and always at the end of every soothing story, including on Thursday evening, he told me "I like to fly". And I couldn't do anything to make him give up on it and prevent the tragedy. Because he didn't listen to me about it, and every other word would only irritate and annoy him. So I preferred after "I like to fly" to be silent. In order not to annoy him and in any case whatever I would say, it wouldn't help that he wouldn't fly the next day. And that's what happened the next day, Friday. I hate that I was right, but I can't do anything about it. He is no longer alive and there is no time machine to go back a bit to the past and in every possible and impossible way to prevent this flight. I would give a lot to warn him, but there is no such thing as a time machine. It's just awful, all of it!……….
Sad info. Thanks to his Virtual Sailor, Micro Flight and later Vehicle Simulator im 3d designer, 2d graphican, sound creator and game moder. Thank you Ilan. Farewell big sim bro! You will always live in our hearts!
What a sad notice.
Thoughts and prayers for Ilan and his family, you will be missed my friend.
Ilan was a lifter, a genius and most importantly, a heart of gold. So sad… an experienced pilot. A veteran of 35 years... I couldn't have wished for a brother-in-law so well.
A large bird, an eagle hit the wing of the plane, which caused the rudders to lose control... sad fate
It's a shame! @Ilan studied at Reali Beit Biram., and graduated in the class of 1981. May his memory be blessed!!!
Very sad and quite disturbing the issue of the safety of these flying instruments...
Once upon a time many years ago there was a movie "Mad Men in Flying Machines".
May his memory be forever, the late Ilan
I didn't want his memory forever, I wanted him with me and my lady until a deep old age
I didn't want his memory forever, I wanted him with me and by my side until a deep old age
