Snakes • Capture One and Three Stories You Won't Believe Really Happened in Haifa's Neighborhoods

(haipo) – The streets of Haifa have become a surprising meeting place between frightened residents and some of the most beautiful and beneficial representatives of the natural world in the country. Three different cases, which occurred in different neighborhoods in Haifa, revealed how easy it is to confuse a venomous and dangerous snake with a rare species and how critical the role of a professional snake catcher is who arrives on time, calms the area and saves not only the residents but also the snake itself, which is important to the ecosystem and is a protected animal by law.

Cat's Eye Snake: The Rare Snake That Scare the Entire Lobby ► Watch

The residents of Doctor Street will never forget the evening when a slender, beautiful snake with a spectacularly squiggly pattern slithered from the nearby wadi into the lobby. The panic was immediate, but the reality was completely different.

This is a cat's eye, my friend. – One of the rarest snakes in the country, not dangerous to humans, and of great ecological importance. Zohar Lahat, the snake catcher who was called to the scene, immediately identified it, calmed the neighbors, and safely returned it to the wild.

Coins stuck inside the gate pipe ► Watch

In another case, in Ramat Alon, a homeowner who tried to open the garage door felt something blocking it from the inside. When he bent down to check, he noticed a tail and the tip of a head. The initial suspicion: a viper again. The reality: a zaman munteh – an aggressive-looking snake but not venomous, and particularly useful in the war against rats.

The snake was stuck deep inside the gate pipe, and normal capture was not possible. Zohar Lahat, the snake catcher, used a gentle stream of water to coax it out, a precise action designed to prevent it from escaping into the dense vegetation, where it would have disappeared without any chance of being found.

The zaman was safely released, after it was explained to the homeowner that it was a protected animal and important to the environment.

A coin-snapping scoundrel who was caught after a successful prey ► Watch

The third incident occurred in the center of Carmel, where a Zaman of Coins entered a rat trap, devoured the rat that was trapped inside, and then, he was unable to get out, and was exhausted and thirsty.

Zohar Lahat, the snake catcher, arrived, carefully rescued it, and gave it a drink of water. The snake was released safe and sound, and the incident became another reminder that even snakes that seem threatening are an integral part of urban nature and sometimes they are simply doing their job.

Important message: Not every snake is a danger – but every snake requires professionalism

The three events emphasize how important it is to know the local snake world:

  • Many of them are not dangerous.
  • Some of them Rare and protected by law.
  • And many of them Very helpful – Especially in the fight against rodents.

In any case of suspicion of a snake on private property, the recommendation is clear: do not try to capture it yourself, do not harm it, and contact a professional trapper who will know how to identify, calm it, and act correctly.  You can contact Zohar Lahat - Snake Catcher directly by phone: 054-245-5627.

  1. A snake according to the New Testament is Judas Iscariot, who is Vitaly Sandol! I don't understand a single thing... Their venom is good for healing, so they are released, but if there is a snake that has bitten a captive to death or seriously injured them, why aren't they killed?
