(haipo) – For over two months, two containers loaded with equipment have been standing, alongside sewer pits, various materials and other waste, in front of a building at 12 Yona Engel Street in the Ramat Golda neighborhood of Haifa. Despite repeated requests by a resident of the neighborhood to the Haifa Municipality, Hotline 106, the Carmel Water Corporation and even the Sanitation Department, the equipment remains in place, and the residents claim that no one is taking responsibility for its removal.

A resident of Yona Engel Street in the Ramat Golda neighborhood (name withheld) contacted the "Hai Pa" network after he claimed that for over two months, two containers loaded with equipment belonging to the Carmel Water Corporation have been placed in front of his house. Alongside the containers are also cesspools, infrastructure parts, and other equipment, which he says create an environmental and aesthetic hazard in the heart of a residential neighborhood.
In a conversation with "Hai Pa" the resident said that as soon as the containers appeared, he contacted the municipal hotline 106 and requested the municipality's intervention. According to him, after contacting him, he was told that the equipment belonged to the Carmel Water Corporation, but since then, no changes have occurred on the ground.
The resident later contacted the Carmel Water Corporation directly and even spoke with one of its representatives, but according to him, this contact also did not lead to the removal of the equipment or to the advancement of any solution.
In another attempt to bring an end to the nuisance, the resident sent a formal request to the Haifa Municipality's Public Inquiries Department on 11/6/26. According to him, the request was received by the municipal system, and he was later informed that the matter had been forwarded to the relevant authority. Despite this, he claims, even after the request was forwarded, no action was taken and the equipment remained in place.

According to the resident, even a chance encounter with an inspector from the Haifa Municipality's sanitation department, who was passing by on his job, did not change the situation. "I don't know who else to turn to," he says. "It's been more than two months, and each party is referring me to someone else's responsibility. In practice, nothing is happening. This is a hazard located in front of residential buildings, and there is no reason for such equipment to be stored on the street for such a long period of time."
Yesterday morning (Sunday, 6/28/26), immediately after Haifa contacted the Carmel Water Corporation, the resident reported to us and documented photos from the field about the evacuation work.
Carmel Water Corporation's response:
The containers mentioned in the appeal were placed in an open public area for the purpose of carrying out essential infrastructure work by "Carmel Water", which took place between March and June.
Upon completion of the corporation's work in early June, asphalt paving work was carried out on the site.
The containers, which were located in an open field, did not obstruct public walkways. The containers and equipment were removed from the site and the area was restored to its original condition upon completion of the paving work.
