The start of the new 2025/26 football season is really approaching and is already upon us, as this coming Saturday (23/8/2025) the league will kick off with many games, one of which will be held at the Sammy Ofer Stadium in Haifa, where the Greens, Maccabi Haifa, will host the Bnei Reina team, for an intriguing game that will begin at 20:30 PM.
The Israel Police is also preparing for this, issuing an official statement wishing a successful and safe season and also calling on the many fans to express their support for the team through legal and safe means.

The police wrote in their statement:
“Ahead of the opening of the sports games, which will begin this coming weekend, the police have been in continuous dialogue with team representatives, league managements, fan representatives and other professional bodies, with the aim of deepening cooperation, strengthening mutual trust and creating an enjoyable and respectful sports experience for the entire public. The use of pyrotechnics is prohibited on the fields, poses a real danger to human life and may lead to disaster. We call on the fan community to express their support for the teams, using only legal and safe means, which allow for a colorful sports atmosphere.

The Israel Police calls on the general public with a clear message: "No to violence, yes to sports!" The police will continue to be present at sports fields and on the roads leading to these events in order to ensure the safety and security of the public."

Meanwhile, it should be noted that the Police Commissioner, Lt. Col. Danny Levy, instructed the commanders in the field to act against manifestations of violence and disturbances of any kind on sports fields, with an emphasis on anyone who attempts to ruin sports events with dangerous, improper and irresponsible behavior and makes reckless use of pyrotechnic means, posing a real risk to the safety and well-being of those around them. Those lawbreakers will be prosecuted and removed from the fields, and police officers who work on sports fields for the sake of public safety and security will be appreciated and supported.
