(haipo) – Against the backdrop of the sharp increase in the scope of cyber attacks in Israel, the National Cyber Directorate is launching the "National Cyber Portal" for the first time – a new digital platform that brings together a wide range of free tools and services designed to strengthen the defense of citizens, businesses and organizations against cyber threats. The launch of the portal is taking place in preparation for National Cyber Defense Week, which will be held between November 8 and 12.
Sharp increase in cyber threats in Israel
The establishment of the portal comes at a time when cyber threats continue to expand at a significant pace. According to data from the National Cyber Directorate, there has been a 145% increase in the volume of phishing attacks this year compared to last year. Since the beginning of 2026, the Directorate has received more than 26 reports from citizens and organizations about suspected cyber attacks, of which more than 5,000 occurred in organizational computer systems.
"Click Check": The new service that will help identify dangerous links
One of the portal's most notable services is "Click Check," a new tool that allows the public to check the reliability of suspicious links. Users can copy a link received in a text message, email, or social media and paste it into the system, which cross-references information from multiple sources and provides an assessment of the level of risk.
The Cyber Division notes that links that are identified as malicious are automatically forwarded for treatment, with the goal of removing them and reducing the risk to the general public. In this way, every report from users also helps protect the entire digital space.
One in three Israelis has difficulty identifying a suspicious link
The need for the launch of the new tool also arises from data from a survey conducted by the National Cyber Directorate, according to which about a third of Israelis do not know how to check whether a link they received is safe or suspicious. Along with "Click Check," the portal also includes an interactive game called "Identify the Impostor," designed to help the public practice identifying phishing and online fraud attempts.
In addition, the platform offers tools for checking the level of personal protection and receiving ongoing alerts about the latest cyber threats.
Advanced services also for businesses and organizations
The new portal includes a dedicated area for businesses and organizations, available after registration, and featuring a variety of professional services designed to improve the level of organizational information security.
Among the tools offered are security checks for digital assets and email servers, examination of the level of protection of external providers, compatibility tests for secure identification mechanisms, guides for performing cyber exercises, and a "hashtag" tool for checking suspicious files.
In addition, organizations will be able to receive targeted alerts about threats relevant to their field of activity and quickly and efficiently report cyber incidents directly to the National Cyber Directorate.
Another step to strengthen digital resilience
The National Cyber Directorate sees the new portal as a significant step in strengthening the awareness and preparedness of the Israeli public and economy against evolving cyber threats. Concentrating the tools and services in one place is expected to make professional information accessible, improve the identification and response capabilities of private and organizational users, and contribute to increasing digital resilience in Israel.
