(haipo) – Starting today (Sunday, 8/16/26), the Ministry of Transportation will provide refunds to passengers who were unable to use their subscription during the period of reduced public transportation activity. The amount of the refund will be automatically calculated based on the number of days during which service was reduced, and it will be possible to choose between several redemption routes.
The Ministry of Transport and Road Safety publishes the refund mechanism for public transport passengers who were affected by the reduction in service during the war. The refund will be given according to the number of days that passengers were prevented from using their subscription, and it will be possible to redeem it until December 31 2026.
The amount of entitlement will be calculated automatically when the Rav-Kav card is linked to one of the service and charging methods, and the passenger will be able to choose the method of redemption that suits him.
How much is the refund?
The amount of the refund is determined according to the number of days during which public transportation activity was reduced and during which the subscription could not be used.
The exact amount will be displayed automatically when checking the Rav-Kav card.
"Monthly Free" holders: three options for refund
Passengers who held a "Free Monthly" subscription will be able to choose between several options:
- Charging a "Free Daily" subscription identical to the subscription they had, depending on the number of days the service was reduced.
- Discount on purchasing a "free monthly" subscription, depending on the number of days of eligibility.
- Loading accumulated value on the Rav-Kav card in the amount of 70% of the value of the number of days in which the service was reduced.
And what about students?
Holders of an annual student subscription or a second semester subscription will be able to choose between three alternatives:
- Discount on purchasing an annual or first semester student subscription in the 2026/2027 academic year, depending on the number of days of eligibility. This option is intended for those who will continue their studies in the coming year.
- Loading accumulated value on the Rav-Kav card in the amount of 70% of the value of the number of days in which the service was reduced.
- Discount on purchasing a "free monthly" subscription, depending on the number of days of eligibility.
