(haipo) Data collected by the "Or Yarok" organization reveals the number of reports filed against new drivers in various cities across Israel. The data shows that Jerusalem leads the list with the highest number of reports filed against new drivers, while Haifa also appears among the cities that stand out in the number of reports filed against drivers during their new driving period.
Haifa in a high place
The published data shows that Jerusalem leads the list of reports for new drivers with 2,530 reports, followed by Tel Aviv with 1,498 reports. Haifa is in third place with 1,249 reports registered for new drivers. Other cities that stand out on the list are Be'er Sheva with 764 reports, Rishon LeZion with 755 reports, Petah Tikva with 729 reports, Holon with 554 reports, Netanya with 549 reports, Ashdod with 541 reports and Bat Yam with 458 reports. These data indicate that the largest cities in Israel are those where the highest numbers of reports are registered among new drivers.
Dozens of cities and towns on the long list
The data covers dozens of other cities and towns across the country. Other notable cities include Ashkelon with 451 reports, Ramat Gan with 424 reports, Herzliya with 370 reports, Bnei Brak with 360 reports, Rehovot with 356 reports, Kfar Saba with 336 reports, Ramla with 330 reports, Lod with 304 reports and Nazareth with 298 reports. Cities such as Acre (253 reports), Kiryat Ata (218 reports), Modi'in (215 reports), Ra'anana (197 reports) and Tiberias (187 reports) also appear on the list. In smaller towns, the numbers are significantly lower, with towns such as Jaljulia (10 reports), Kfar Manda (9 reports) and Ar'ara (11 reports) showing relatively low numbers.
What the data means for new drivers
The data shows that new drivers in large cities are more exposed to receiving traffic tickets, likely due to the high traffic load, the large number of intersections monitored by cameras, and increased enforcement activity in dense urban areas. Among the cities of the Carmel Coast and the Kiryats, significant numbers can be seen: Kiryat Bialik with 120 tickets, Kiryat Motzkin with 136 tickets, and Kiryat Yam with 118 tickets. These data emphasize the need for increased adherence to traffic rules among new drivers, who are in a particularly sensitive period when traffic violations may lead to the revocation of their driver's license.
