(Haipo) – After the Israeli government announced last week its opposition to the deal to liquidate and sell the shipping company Zim, the workers' committee and the Histadrut issued a strong statement demanding that the board of directors stop promoting the deal and ensure that Zim remains under full Israeli control, while warning that the workers will use all means at their disposal.
The options facing the ZIM board of directors
After the Israeli government announced its opposition to the deal, ZIM's board of directors is faced with several options. One is to continue trying to convince the Israeli government with different variations of the deal. The other option is to withdraw from the deal altogether, assuming that the Israeli government will not allow a takeover by a foreign-owned company, especially when it is a company partially owned by Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
According to the chairman of the workers' committee, Mr. Oren Caspi, the board of directors is aware that as long as the deal is up in the air, it weakens the company - both with customers and suppliers and with employees. Therefore, the board of directors may decide to strengthen the company and withdraw from the deal.
Workers' Committee: "Stop the antics and the delay"
The Zim Workers' Committee issued a strong statement in which it views with great severity the conduct of the board of directors and the continued delaying of the company's future. According to the statement, the ongoing uncertainty is already harming the company's stability, undermining the safety of employees, making it difficult to retain and recruit personnel, and may harm Zim's long-standing relationships with customers, suppliers, and business partners in Israel and around the world.
The committee emphasized that the state has already spoken, and that ZIM, a strategic company for the State of Israel, should not pass into foreign hands, and that attempts to wrap such a move in new outlines, financial manipulations, or various tricks will not change this principle.

Demand for an urgent meeting and warning against unilateral action
The Histadrut, alongside the employee representatives, sent a letter to the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Yair Saroussi, and the members of the Board of Directors, demanding that an urgent meeting be held before any decision is made or advanced regarding the outline of the sale of the company. The letter emphasized that this is a move that has a direct and significant impact on the company and its employees, and that such decisions cannot be made while bypassing the employee representatives.
The delegation also explicitly warned that another attempt to advance a unilateral move, without genuine and prior consultation with the workers, would be met with resistance, and that the workers would use all means at their disposal to protect their rights and their future. The committee called on the board of directors to return to stable, responsible and continuous management of the company, and to work to secure ZIM's future as a company under full, strong and stable Israeli control.

I don't understand why they want to sell a company that is making a very good profit in the first place. If the major shareholders want to sell, there is a stock exchange where they can sell their shares.
The piggy has already crossed every boundary. There are no red lines and no sacred cows. They are only interested in money.
Who is selling state assets to Arab countries? Have we gone crazy??? A liquidation sale? When will we stop trusting Arab countries? Even if we have relations with them, they should not be trusted.
Is Zim nationalized?
There are pigs who oppress the country and don't even live here.
We should congratulate the state for not selling the company and now a general revision of the system and giving the system a boost without threatening the system. An end to the piggybacking for the future of the children and grandchildren.
How much nonsense in one article?
Shipping is about sailors! Not tea departments!
Oren Caspi is a computer guy…this is not shipping!
The Israeli merchant fleet was destroyed by Israelis at the ZIM company. The Israeli managers received tens of millions,
And where was the press?
There's no problem selling Zim!
You can see from your response that the understanding of shipping from you onwards, that you end your response with no problem selling Zim, that if I were allowed to use dirty language I would tell you, you can go to the market to sell tomatoes, anyone can do that
Finally, the ZIM board of directors' murder is stopped
