A woman choked on her donut in Haifa • Her condition is critical

A 62-year-old choked while eating a donut - she was taken to the hospital in critical condition

The medical teams of the Rescue Union provided medical assistance and performed CPR on a 62-year-old lady who suffocated while eating a donut on Hahorsha Street in Haifa.

Itamar Galili, a medic at Union Rescue, said:

When I got there we were told that she choked while eating a donut while riding in a shuttle bus. I gave her first aid (performing CPR) and then she was evacuated while continuing CPR in critical condition to the Carmel Medical Center.

At 10:36 a report was received at MDA's 101 hotline in the Carmel area about a woman who choked while eating a donut in Haifa.

MDA medics and paramedics provided medical treatment and referred a 63-year-old woman in critical condition to Carmel Hospital while performing CPR.

MDA paramedic Shmuel Dror:

When we got to the street we saw the woman lying unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing. We immediately began performing advanced resuscitation operations that included breathing, massages and administering medications. During the medical treatment, we extracted pieces of dough from her throat with the help of special medical equipment. We put her in an intensive care unit and evacuated her for further medical treatment at the hospital while continuing to perform CPR.
