A whole nation bowed its head. Hundreds of Haifa residents participated in the running event held tonight (Wednesday, 10/7/2026) at the Destructors' Square on Dado Beach, to mark three years since October 7, 2023, the terrible massacre of that Black Sabbath on Simchat Torah. Among them were children and teenagers, families, sports groups and associations from the fields of soccer, acrobatics, taekwondo, and more.

It should be noted that this exciting event took place in collaboration with the Municipal Sports Authority, under the management of Nir Shaul, and the Haifa headquarters for the families of the kidnapped and missing, as part of the national project "Running 7.10". We would also like to add that the evening combined running and movement, memory, music, and an encounter with the stories of families who lost their loved ones.

At the center of the ceremony, which was powerful and special, were the words of Hana Cohen, she is the aunt of Inbar Heyman (Pink) z"l, Sandra Alon, the mother of the hero of Israel, Sergeant Tomer Keren, late וRichel Tsrafati, the mother of The late Ofir French.

Exciting things she brought Hana Cohen who told about amber, who came to Haifa only to fulfill her dream as an artist and found a home in the city. She spoke about the multidisciplinary artist who decorated the Hadar neighborhood with her graffiti paintings, about the fighter and commander in Karakal, the teacher and fan of the Maccabi Haifa football team, and most of all, about a young woman who believed in people, education, art, and love. She concluded her remarks with a sentence associated with amber: "Love your neighbor more than yourself."

Sandra Alon She told about her son, a hero of Israel. Tomer, late, a fighter in the 51st Golani Battalion, who was 20 years old when he fell. She described him as "the sunshine of my life" and as a son, brother, friend and fighter who carried with him the values of friendship, responsibility and giving. In her remarks, she spoke of the possibility of "turning memory into action, longing into mission and pain into legacy" and concluded with a message of life, love and hope.

Richel Tsrafati She composed the memory of her son. Ofir To the spirit of the event and the choice to remember through movement and sports: "Ofir, today we run in your memory and in the memory of all those who are no longer with us. We run with the pain, but also with love. We run with longing, but also with life. With memory, but also with the choice to move forward."

Meanwhile, it should be noted that the ceremony was conducted with great grace byDr. Daniela Mazor, who headed the headquarters of the families of the kidnapped and missing in Haifa and was a co-initiator of the event. In her opening remarks, she saidDr. Mazor"We don't run from the pain. We carry it with us," she also spoke about the need to remember the kidnapped, those who could not be saved, the bereaved families, the soldiers and reservists, the evacuees and communities displaced from their homes, and all those whose lives have changed since October 7.

We would like to add that the ceremony was accompanied by Roy Barda, a musician and a battle cry, in two songs, one of which was dedicated to his friend Gilad Z"lSaar Mashiach, the event's DJ, provided the musical backdrop for the run and the moments in between.

Head of the city's Education, Culture and Sports Administration Ilana Truk, spoke on behalf of the municipality and spoke about the connection between memory, education and community.

Volunteers from the headquarters of the families of the kidnapped and missing in Haifa, which has been operating in the city of Haifa for over two years, also took part in the exciting event. At the return point for runners from the 7.10 finish line, a special representative from the headquarters was also set up, where the volunteers awaited the runners with water and Israeli flags, while in the background the yellow flags identified with the struggle for the return of the kidnapped waved.

The event was held in collaboration with Nir Shaul, the director of the municipal sports authority, and the authority's staff, including Michal Ben Ezra וSunlight who also accompanied the preparations and the event itself.

This Haifa event was part of the "Runners 7.10" project, which brought together thousands of runners that evening at various points throughout the country and around the world.
